Wilso stated over on the Steam forums, that the regular version has been submitted for classification in Australia.

Ie. Full 'gore'.
So once again If I preorder NOW the LV version in Aus and RO gets pass the classification board latter will I be able to download ROW version at release day?

Religion has nothing to do with this. The Bible, the Quran, most religious texts are more violent than these games.

Besides, I have AvP, the reasonably new one, in my account. I stab people, drown them in acid, shoot them, burn them, then tell them to "come on out motherfker" before tearing their spine out. That's more violent than any RO I've ever played. So no need to curse religion, since that has no relevance on anything. Instead, curse the devs who cut down games before they're even rated, thus giving uninformed reviewers the impression that the game _needs_ to be cut.

Couple of things dude, first of all do your research and get informed. You will see that TWI have put the warning up as a caution to Aussie players preordering saying theres a chance the final product might be cut. Simultaneously they have submitted teh full gore version to the ratings board hoping for a MA15 rating. This is extra work for them but they are covering their consumers on both sides of teh coin. Massive respect for this.

Nothing to do with religion? Do research. The single man who blocked the R18 rating for his entire time in the office of attourney general is Michael Atkinson, whom prior to politics was the chancellor of the traditional anglican communion, which he only stepped down from due to his political responsibilities. Atkinsons powerbase and following has always been from the religious community and he ahs cited this as his reasoning to block the bill many times.

Now go and look at the official government paper in which submissions for arguments for and against the rating were provided by community groups. Most of the groups arguing for were gaming clans and gorups. Here is a list of those arguing against:
Australian Catholic Bishops Conference
Australian Christian Lobby
Catholic Women’s League Australia
Catholic Women's League Tasmania
Presbyterian Church of Australia
Presbyterian Church of Victoria
Australian Family Association (Christian Group)
Sporting Shooters' Association of Australia Inc (yeah they argued against. crazy huh?)

Get informed, its our country and we should know whats going on. IF you don't like the things that are happening its your duty to understand why so you can be a part of the solution.

If you buy it now, in Australia, you will get whatever comes out in Australia once the rating board and the like did their thing. It only says LV now in the store to warn potential buyers that it might be LV in AU. It definitely is LV in DE.

Correct. So everyone calm down and lets wait for the classification :)

this is one thing im worried about, im australian myself and i can currently get 20% off my purchase due to owning the original RO :) however i do not wanto be locked into playing the low violence version of the game, i wanto expereince the game as tripwire has intended its audience to.

I would like to know that if i secure my pre purchase aswell as my freinds that we would be granted the full fledged version of HOS upon its classification, i can live with playing a dumbed down version for a few weeks but to be locked to it for good would not do it for me.

Please tripwire clear this up for your australian fanbase

Just a an addition to the great post of Luckz.

If you by it outside of Australia the whole board and such will not matter.

Yeah I think we will find out in a few days what the game board is going to do in relation to the Australian rating of the game etc...
If we are getting the censored version in Australia you can order it from ozgameshop.com. They sell you the UK version boxed. Only downside is it would take around 3 weeks to arrive... so I'd probably try and find someone to gift a digital version.

4-12 days, if you are lucky you get it in the first week but my last two items have arrived in 12 days, tho one item arrived in 3 :D.

But yea steam is only 7 dollars more, you get it on launch and there will be most likely a pre load option soon.

You people need to vote and get your weak *** censorship laws removed. Before anyone gets offended:

Tripwire agrees with me.

Tripwire said:
But if you buy the game OUTSIDE Germany and ship it in, then the German government is losing out on VAT revenue which just MIGHT make someone take notice of the silliness of the whole thing. And make a noise about it to your politicians. The whole thing drives US mental too.

Yeah because so many parties actually care about that. They want votes, and they get more votes from the idiots that think "omg yes, violence in video games makes people shoot others, ban it!". I believe there were reports about younger politicians who actually think it is bull****, but it gives them more voters if they just keep that stupid law.

No, the problem is that no one cares about it. And I can't blame them. There are about a bazillion things more important than video game censorship.

Yeah i know, i was referring to the people THAT care about it. But yes, this topic is only interesting if something horrible (Amok) happens. Other than that, nobody cares.
That's why those comments about "change your government" are nothing but troll posts in my eyes.

Actually, video game censorship becomes very important if you stop buying video games in <insert censoring country here>. If they are losing out on money, which is the ONLY thing they care about and will listen to, then there is a possibility for fixing these pussy censorship laws. If this was happening to me I would refuse to buy any games in my country and I'd always buy through a friend on steam who lives in an uncensored country. The problem is convincing every gamer in a country to do this. Obviously it isn't that important to gamers if they keep buying censored games.

There a lots of bigger industries in terms of tax income. The relevance of the vg industry in Germany is basically zero.
