And I was just a couple of clicks away of pre-ordering when I noticed the low violence version noted.... and I had to move to Australia, lol.
Of course my Ostfront is just fine, as I purchased that in Canada, and thus, I still have that version available to me here in Aus.
I was disappointed when I got L4D2 two weeks ago and they nerfed it.
If I can have assurance that when the M18+ rating is passed in Australia, that Trip can supply a patch to fix the low violence version and not leave Aussies with their wangs flapping in the breeze.... I'll pre-order now.
Otherwise, I'll wait until the rating system is passed here before I pick up the game.
For those wondering why it's a big deal about gibs and gore being in the game or not..... the simple answer is that the game is supposed to be designed based around
"Immersion" &
"Realism"........ and if they nerf the game to the point where rubber ducks, bolts & springs pop out of characters, blood spatter turns into rainbow paint & pixi dust, and bodies fade away before they hit the ground..... you give one giant dent into that immersion & realism.
That and as others have said, we're adults and should be able to decide for ourselves what we're exposed to, just like tv shows & movies.
Now I know that's not Steam, Valve or Tripwire's fault, and I know it all swings depending on the government & what they do, but based on my current Visa for living here in Australia, I really don't have a say in anything, so all I can do is B*tch and moan
The odd thing is that I seem to see more violence, sex and nudity on TV here in Oz than I did back in Canada..... go figure.
