Man I'm so tired of these old schools RO players (the whole 6 of them). Stop living in the past dudes, of course "glowing" isn't realistic, but Balance > realism!

This is a large issue. It turned me from a decent-to-bad player into semi-god, easily knowing all enemy positions. People hidden in dark places become easier to see than people out in the open, there is something wrong then.

Im playing with almost everything in Ultra and i still notice some glow, ofc i hate when people reduce their graphic settings by purpose just to take advange in multiplayer (grass, fog, etc), im that kind of player who loves to play a game with good looking.
If you ask me, it must be fixed? Yes, 100% yes.. .but is not that serious like you want to make it look

Edit: IMO, bloom is not the main problem, but playing with Enchanced instead Normal or War movie and bloom at the same time is...
Im updating the game right now, i will test this later

Can we have a response from TWI please? This is pretty significant.

I'm pretty sure that this is something that is engine related... as it pertains to Unreal Engine 3. I'm not sure that this is something that they can fix. I'll be sure to continue using it for as long as it's available.

And for anyone saying that it's not visible past 30-50m... I dare to disagree. It all depends on which direction you're aiming. If you're aiming away from the sun, I can pickout targets from 50-100 meters with EASE.

I just tried this and this thing is a major exploit, it needs to be fixed.

I agree. I play a lot of firefight, and I went from a 50's-90's player to a 120's-160's player.

But hey, if people don't see it as huge as an advantage as I see it, then I'll keep using it forever :)

I dont see why some guys are getting their knickers in a twist over this, the vast majority of games have similar results when you turn down the visuals.
Most competitive gamers will run configs with minimal graphical bells and whistles.
When i played DOD competitively years ago i used to bump up my gamma settings to see dark windows etc more clearly.
Personally i play my games now with everything maxxed out, thats why i purchased a high end pc,i prefer immersion and atmosphere in my gameplay above anything else.

New photos showing that the glowing orb effect DOES indeed work at ranges 50-100meters.

I easily could scope and engage targets in this building with EASE.

People hidden in dark places become easier to see than people out in the open, there is something wrong then.

I think this is due to the contrast between the dark place that they're in, in contrast to the brightness of them. Also, the bloom effect makes them a glowing target (a larger target), as the darker the environment around the object that blooms, blooms brighter than if it were around other brighter areas - because of the intense contrast.

Bottom line, because of the bloom, they are in fact a larger target (visually speaking) in addition to being a brighter one.

RO2 has become a FPS version of Whack-a-mole. lol

remove bloom from game = problem solved

bloom is a pile of garbage any way, I am actually shocked that people do not turn it off as soon as they load the game for the first time

They need to raise minspec for shadows or force bloom off with lower spec shadows, pretending to have a **** computer is no excuse.

just disable bloom when shadows are set to low = problem solved, and easy programming task ... and someone with a bad computer that requires low shadows , they can not run bloom either .. becuse its very demanding

i used that bloom-bug for a while now ,ppl can't hide in the dark anymore.. and maps are a shooting gallery of heads in the window corners, that was almost impossible to see before .. those i accused of using aimbots and hacks before was probably exploiting this
