The first game had a major balance flaw where with the right perk combo and some luck you could have dogs and a gunship out in 5 kills (which normally take 11 kills) due to being able to re-roll any drop and they never, every patched this even though many people agreed that balance made the game amazingly unfun to play. Instead they just released a new game. On top of that the company is famous for nickle and dime dlc left and right so really it's far from a complete game at launch if you need to spend $15 every time just to get 2-3 new maps. They may have also never charged for guns but they charged for custom class slots with imo is much worse.

We are also talking about a company size difference, a development budget difference, and an exposure difference. Call of duty is a franchise that can make money no matter what it does, still makes money regardless of quality.
they have never charged for custom class slots, sry I'm lvl 15 prestige , as far as balances go, sure gun ship, use ghost pro, for attack in bo there is a counter, sry buddy you lose again

and guess what for 15 bucks you get do get 3 killer maps and they work.

Yea, you mean they never charged for custom class slots like that?

Also there was a counter to it, still didn't change the fact that it was an amazingly broken combo that allows you to get 2 items that were reserved for 11 kill streaks by kill 5 and it could have been easily fixed. Not like it would have taken much work either, they could have just added another line of code being "if supply crate =/= care package drop then don't allow re roll", fixed. Nah, save it till the next game and change it then since people will buy the next game anyway like they always do.

No point in the argument anyway, comparing Activision or treyarch to Tripwire is like saying "The local burger joint should be able to open as many locations as McDonalds", both companies are so insulated that they can afford to make big and small mistakes and still not have to worry about losing money.

Don't know how this relates to speed of updates anyhow, i highly doubt even they would be doing weekly news updates on ever little thing they do at the office.

Tired testers.
That is what you see here.

I wonder what they are up to? Headsets still on at 5:30.

BTW, did we say we'd let you know what we're working on every two weeks?
When was the last post about that?

Well, back to work...

Historically TWI has never been very open or communicative with the community during game development. When they come up with something, you'll have the final version with very slim chances of changing it. They get very defensive if they don't get the feedback they want.

"Deal with it" is pretty much their motto.
That should be their motto. There's no need to pander. Pandering is what self conscious or greedy people do.

Make the game that is their vision that plays the way they want to.

I think that there's a lot of people that think EA means you get a say in how things are done. You play the game as it's developed and give your feedback. If the feedback rings true to the developer they use it to mold the game into being a better game that fits their vision.

Well, back to work...

Yoshiro did mention in the first "What Are We Up To?" thread that a progress update would be roughly every two weeks. But if he is on holiday then it's understandable that there's a delay.

Personally I feel like I've played enough of the current version to get a decent sense of the state of the game, and I'm happy to wait for the next update before I play more. Community updates are welcome and helpful, but I don't feel ripped off if they don't happen.

Thanks for taking the time to take that picture and post here =)

His last "What are we up to" post was on Friday, 05-08-2015, 02:05 PM. So, there is no delay yet. If you see nothing by this time tomorrow, that will be a delay.

All of this could be very reduced if you assigned a guy to post a list of things that are being worked, even if there aren that many changes from the previous post. At least, it would give a sensation that you care about your playerbase. I'm not saying that you dont, BTW, but this lack of information makes a lot of people feel a little... abandoned.

It cant be that hard, and it would lighten the mood around here by a factor of "a lot".

But instead, they take time to post some proof of their hard work. We are not implying that you just sit around doing nothing guys, actually, I'm pretty sure you do an amazing job behind the curtains.

But why taking the time to post THIS instead of a little something about our feedback? How do you feel about what is considered as issues by your kind costumers? You can take all the time you need to polish your updates, I can wait. But try at least to show some interest and share your opinion. Isn't that the goal of early access? It's not the players who said you'll be showing the example of what a good EA should be, it's you.

Like really... we all know you are working hard (except the obvious trolls), we are not asking a to do list, "thank you for your feedbacks" kind of thing.

All we ask is something like

"oh, the teleport is actually a temp. fix until we polish the pathing of zeds".
"The perks of every 5 level will end up having more than 2 of them per teir!!"

All information we can get now is "we are working". WE KNOW!!! We really know you are working hard, but why even tell us that? This is not communication. Every respond is like "you dont say?" Who doesnt know you are working hard, we really appreciate that too I must add. But if you want to communicate, give the receiver something. You may not have a final decision yet, but you must have a general approach. What's the point of having official responds when most if not all information is classified?

Its not like nobody have any time to spend on the forums, we DO SEE them reply, but only on very unrelated matters or only a few people concerned (just look for the TWI logos on the first page of this forum). While issue where basically everyone is concerned, nothing.

It has been confirmed multiple times that there will be multiple perk resets.

Why would you assume anything not yet fully implemented is confirmed? Game development can be a fluid process and new information may change your original plan for the better.

black ops had 2 patches done ,real company

what games and what companies are you talking about.

what is your statement some justification for your company's inability to make a decent launch and using other companies failures as your status quo,

Bravo, Bravo

What games? What games DIDN'T have a terrible launch? Shorter list. Games like AC Unity, Watch Dogs, Halo MCE, Driveclub, Destiny, BF4, BF Hardline, GTA Online, GTAV PC, Diablo 3, Sim City, just to name a few in recent memory. Many of which were not just buggy or had server issues, no a lot of the games I mentioned were literally UNPLAYABLE in any way at launch. All these were made by the biggest publishers in the world (EA, Ubi, Rockstar, Sony, Activison, and MS) Have you not been away from the game industry for the past 5 years? How do you not know that most games are DOA now a days?

Not to mention OP, from what I have seen of real game testers, it isn't nearly as fun as it sounds. Imagine playing an EVEN MORE broken, unfinished game like ACU all day long, cataloging and fighting with bugs and unfinished levels, having to play the same boring escort mission 100 times over. Sounds like hell to me.

Like really... we all know you are working hard (except the obvious trolls), we are not asking a to do list, "thank you for your feedbacks" kind of thing.

Except, you're not actually thinking things through.

All we ask is something like

"oh, the teleport is actually a temp. fix until we polish the pathing of zeds".

What if the teleport is NOT a temp fix, and they think that it's an okay thing? That's not to say that they won't acknowledge that some people don't like it. But what if they don't know if they'll change it or not. They can't see it's here to stay, because, well they may change their minds to change it during EA. Frankly, even if they've already decided to change it, maybe they're not even thinking about what to replace it with at the moment, because it's so early, and they're still examining the data to see exactly how the teleportation is affecting player movements, death, strategies, etc (or whatever they're looking at).

Given the above scenario, they couldn't possibly say what you want them to say. But okay, yours was just a hypothetical. Of course, But what can they say other than...we acknowledge that some people don't like the teleportation, and we're currently examining data on it.

Now, you can't tell me that that you would want that because it's no different than if they just posted "we are working" in every single thread. Because that message says nothing.

"The perks of every 5 level will end up having more than 2 of them per teir!!"
lol there you go. It's not that you want information. You just want them to confirm stuff that you want in the game. (I don't even expect there to be more than two abilities per tier.) What if all they plan to have is 2 tiers. Again maybe they'll consider more, so they can't confirm that this is it. (And on the flipside, what if they really don't have no plans to have more than 2 abilities per tier...do they need to say...this is all we plan to have? Do they need to say that about every facet of the game other than maps, weapons, and perks? You don't even realize what you're demanding.)

Its not like nobody have any time to spend on the forums, we DO SEE them reply, but only on very unrelated matters or only a few people concerned (just look for the TWI logos on the first page of this forum). While issue where basically everyone is concerned, nothing.

Grow up. Maybe because those are the most complicated. Or maybe cause those are the most annoying. Since these big ticket issues are...well...lol let's leave that for their respective threads.
