I was just wondering we are able to pick up all the gear from dead bodies?

I always wanted to be able to grab binoculars from squad leaders as I found sniping with scope harder than with iron sights. Same goes for those MG barrels, I wonder where the machinegunners had them stored in ;)

So, will it be possible to grab everything the dead guy was carrying?

Confirmed you can pick up Weapons & Ammo.

Im not sure about the equipment pickup. It could lead to a bif of balance problem.

It would be cool to be able to pick up equipment too. I don't really think it would cause a balance problem, because let's face it, the average battlefield life time in RO is generally only a few minutes and you loose you equipment soon enough!

You'll get to loot the Steam pre-order receipts when players die from natural causes. :D

Hmmmm......wonder if you can loot bandages.

(could end up to be the best tactic yet)

Two minutes into this video you can see how the loot system works ‪Red Orchestra 2 : Heroes of Stalingrad GDC '11 HD (Part 2)‬‏ - YouTube

but not sure on what all can be picked up from that its only weapons but who knows if they had bandages or grenades. Also another good questions is if you pick up all there ammo, or can you just pick up the ammo (say if you're version of the weapon is modified and want to keep it and just pick up the ammo)

Well either it wasn't in that version of the game or they weren't carrying grenades or bandages. Would be nice to loop bandages, in firearms it sucks to have to run back and grab one (which you probably wouldn't be able to do in RO)

Yes, unfortunately you are allowed to pick-up enemy Weapons & Ammo mid-game ( I almost dont mind friendly weapon pick-up )...

Unfortunately??

Didn't know WWII weapons had a DNA check to allow certain kind of people to pick them

It seems that you never played RO:OST

Well I love being able to pick up enemy weapons, but I do see how players could disagree with it. Could have a bunch of players with the same weapon like a spam of MG or something like that. But there are ways to have balance.

Like if your a rifleman picking up a MG could not be able to control recoil, or not know how to change the barrel. Also if a number of players pick up a MG then they will disappears faster than other weapons.

For that reason, a regular soldier deploys the MG slower than a machinegunner (at least it says so in the manual) and cannot change the barrel.

I wonder, as the OP did, whether one will be able to pick up barrels, binocs and the likes. The screenshot suggets at least, that the ammo stays with the weapon. This however may be different in the final release or i

Well I don't think it is either. But the community for RO1 is pretty good with overall mature players. Who knows what kind of players are going to come in with RO2. I say the more the merrier but with that you need things like what I suggested....well "may" who knows.

Well that's better......I was freaking out because I thought it read "Pick Up All!".

Certainly, but let me get Rudi my faithful pack-mule over here first! ;)
