Hey all! Most of you don't know me, but I am new to these forums ;)

But, I am interested in compiling the specimen ideas into a single thread.
Let your mind run wild, -but. make. them. realisitic-! If I have some time this summer, I might try and make a model of one if I like the concept :), but it most likely won't get into the game as I have another that deserves that part ;)

Oh here's one. Not sure how practical it would be, but here's a general idea.

Name: Stomper or Rock

Appearance: Huge Mutated Giant [Overweight giant with muscular arms and deformed legs/feet, because of this he cannot run]. It has puffy eyes and makes a heavy breathing sound as he approaches his prey.

Abilities: Moves slow, but due to his huge size; he acts as a meatshield for the other specimens and each step he takes causes the ground around him to shake, the closer you are to it, the worse the shaking gets; which will obviously affect your accuracy.

Attacks: Swings his muscular arms to deal high damage - can you send you flying like the patriarch's physical attack but less damage than a patriarch.

Health: Scrake

Name: Shotgunner clot

Appearance: Armoured along the lines of Agent Wilkes, but with an AA12.

Abilities: *AA12 equipped with 3 spare mags.
*Lacks penetration of a support and doesn't scope so it has dodgy accuracy.
*Is immune to headshots but is weak against fire as fire blinds it; similar to the way a husk blinds a player.
*Shotguns can stun it, but do not penetrate it's armour. Has a hard-head ability which prevents decapitations.
*Crossbow bolts deal 80% damage due to their powerful penetration being able to, but not fully, penetrate the helmet if hit dead straight, as in not at an angle, as the helmet would deflect the bolt, and likewise with bullets.
*Blows to the neck with melee weapons can cause decapitations if hit hard enough with a big enough weapon.

Health: FP

Sounds just like a clot, except for the AA12 gunfire.

Background: Horzine created a cheap clone in the form of the clot, and mutlitasking on a suit of armour, decided to combine the two. Given weapons training, these clots prefer shotguns due to the fact they like to get nice and close. The inclusion of helmets prevent the clot from aiming well, so they prefer to just fire from the hip.

This was a somewhat thought out idea i had, it was based around the shotgunner specimen from the mod that was floating around the forums, but expanded to make zerker and firebug useful.

Terrible. I mean, a clot in armor and with AA12 would look ridiculous, to be honest.

Anyway, I wonder how hard it would be to create a mutator that gives each specimen random stats (as in random HP, strenght/damage, speed within given limits ofc) and random skin from 3 or more different options. Would require someone to make the skins too ofc but still..

Sounds like something to break up the camping nature of the game. Actually though, I think it should have an insane amount of health but not rage so that people HAVE to move. And if it gets close, what you describe will happen.

Actually, I've been thinking about that. Since it has deformed legs, it cannot run. Due to it's lack of speed it should be compensated to have equal if not more HP than a fleshpound. Also, I think it should be able to rage once it hits 50% - i.e faster attack or more damage or both rather than fleshpound's adrenaline rush. This makes it more of a threat than just a solid meatshield, and depending on it's distance & position, players will need to prioritize their targets which reinforces teamwork since it has so much health [i.e focus fire].

No more ridiculous than a player using Agent Wilkes and being support IMO.

The idea was to make a ranged specimen that uses a shotgun. You could replace the AA12 with a regular shotgum if it pleases you:p.

There was supposed to be a ranged specimen in the KFMod that uses a shotgun, but unfortunately due to Alex's harddrive crashing, it was lost forever and never made it in game.

Ok, I just updated my specimen idea.

Name: Stomper or Rock

Appearance: Huge Mutated Giant [Overweight giant with muscular arms and deformed legs/feet, because of this he cannot run]. It has puffy eyes and makes a heavy breathing sound as he approaches his prey.

Abilities: Moves slow, but due to his huge size; he acts as a meatshield for the other specimens and each step he takes causes the ground around him to shake, the closer you are to it, the worse the shaking gets; which will obviously affect your accuracy. This specimen will also rage once it reaches 50% health [While raging, you will notice it's eyes are no longer puffy but bloodshot; it gains a 50% damage and attack speed boost]. This will force the team to maintain distance and focus fire to take it out.

Attacks: Swings his muscular arms to deal high damage - can you send you flying like the patriarch's physical attack but less damage than a patriarch.

Health: Fleshpound [Probably more]

What do you guys think?
