In response to imonoz's thread, I thought I'd give the story-telling a go! Here is a brief overview of my thoughts and feelings on KF!
I bought KF a couple of weeks after release after a friend of mine recommended it to me, I started on normal difficulty under my regular alias at the time: Deadeye.uK
I quickly found berserker and support were awesome, although I came from CSS so I found commando quite appealing! I distinctively remember playing manor a lot!
Despite being new to the game, I managed to grasp that I should only use weapons related to my perks! I became a massive fan of support/hunting (which I still use to this day!) as support and the chainsaw as berserker (you didn't even need a sidearm back then!)
I feared the Scrake most, I used to hate him charging at you somewhat unexpectedly and as a new player, he used to catch me a lot as I was reloading. I still remember the various trips to toilet - and my underwear drawer. Although he wasn't so bad after I discovered the 'aim over his left shoulder' headshot hitbox.
KF for me now, I only play with friends, normally organised, high difficulty games, as I find pubs are very hit and miss with good or bad players. The perk I use most is SS on HoE, and any perk that isn't level 6 on -> suicidal. My perks are currently: 5 Medic, Firebug, Demolitions, Commando. 6 Sharpshooter, Support, Berserker.
I like to mix around with strategies and setups depending on my mood! I beat HoE biohazard using mainly firebugs and LAW demo's!
One of my funniest moments would be rushing towards a welded door that is nearly breached. My welder is out, and im holding l-mouse, ready to weld as soon as i'm in range. I didn't see the spare FT the firebug had left. I picked it up and fired it close range into the door, setting myself on fire, and letting the specimens in, which then killed me. I didn't care, I was in stitches!
The best thing about KF is the re-playability. I've had x1000 my moneys worth for this game, and I hope that never changes. I also like how the developers are really involved in the community and I genuinely feel the community has a voice.
The bad thing about KF is... well... it can be scary to play at night...
A suggestion for the game would be an extreme difficulty level, with a ridiculously short trader time, zeds with further increases in damage, health and speed, as well as nerfs to player abilities such as self-heal and only supports can weld etc. This would be possible, but EXTREMELY difficult. I'd like this. I'd like this a lot!
