small update as from 29/11 to fix a few bits


This is an UPDATE to my London map as in this is how it will progress from now.


Changelog :


- Hotel top floor removed as was not required for gameplay
- Hotel Performance increase
- Hotel moved now to road level instead of being set back
- New decals added
- reworked police station interior
- reworked church interior
- reworked hotel interior
- exit added to cinema
- Cinema video removed (save a lot of space)
- Original KF1 traders added inc some voices
- subway grunged up along with all other parts
- Police station upstairs removed
- Extra effects added
- Performance increase throughout the map
- things moved , changed and added

Very nice. This is such a huge improvement. London now looks totally devastated. Tons of left over remains, blood, gore, rubbish, debris. Performance is great too. I particularly like the Police Station interior, superb use of lighting, smoke and carnage.

I have some feedback, however.

- Add spawns to the rear of the cinema alley, it's a fairly easy camp spot. Also might be an idea to add more spawns in the cinema, the exit doors were welded throughout the entire match, not a single zed spawned to break it down.

- Does it stay night now? Think I recall you saying it does as it saves on performance? Feasible to have it cycle through day?

- Church feels too dark. Perhaps have the wall torches emit a teensy bit more light?

- The trader voice for KF1 is really out of place and harsh along with KF2's, softer, smoother voice. Suggest removing as it also overlaps. Doesn't sound good at all.

- All trader doors open once the wave ends. Can be confusing.

- Add more deco to the trader walls, it still looks too bare. Perhaps add a couple of weapons on the wall? Minor detail.

- The rain is cool but I miss the torrential downpour you used originally. It really obstructed your view, felt great. Was this a performance choice? Would be awesome to see it return.

Anyway, these are my initial thoughts. Keep it up Sir. ;)

Great suggestions !

Nice catch on the cinema alley I will get something sorted along with some more light on the church,

The trader voices I will remove I was on the line about them any ways

In regards to all traders opening I will see what I can do but may not be able to do so.

The rain is unchanged ? And has not been adjusted since long ago

Oh god, LOL. I just played the last version yesterday and was coming to give feedback, now a new one already :)

Anyway, my wife and I love the new layout and the FPS are so much better, I didn't get a drop at all even during the boss wave with smoke everywhere. We even let a whole bunch of zeds pile up at a door and let them all in at once and slaughtered them and no drops with the bits flying everywhere. Great job, at least for us. We did miss the nightclub though

Will get this new one and try out later. So many updated and new maps the last 2 or 3 days, hard to keep up. Hoping they add listen servers soon so I don't need to go through the whole "put maps in game and server folder, edit config to add new maps, then add new maps to map list so I can easily find the name to type into the .bat file before I start the server"

:) cheers, yeah sorry for the quick update there was an urgent little fix needed, should not be anymore for a while.


The nightclub has gone yes :( due to it being a dead end and also music copyrights for the Comp it has to go :)

The gardens outside the church are missing textures since the last update. Played it today and saw some gorgeous purple and white checker boards :p

Yup lol nothing i can do about it, it's a texture used from the KF assets but seems broken, I can't fix atm as the editor is broken lol

A fix will be incoming though

Awesome, a huge improvement over the previous version! I did indeed notice that there's no more Paris assets so it looks completely consistent now, which is really nice.

However, I have stumbled upon a bug. Missing textures near the church as seen below:
