Like Zetsumei says...
... I dont know i fyou're a finger mouse user or a palm user.
the g9 comes with 2 outer casings for both users. I liked the feel of it, and would definately get it if i had to get a new mouse (i actually need one i broke my scroll of my g5 i'm just to cheap). but the ergonomics are great from what i've seen. Its just another generation up....

Athena, I know you've probably read countless reviews, but here is another one with some good info and pics (of what actually comes in the package..grips/casings/etc).http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,2177894,00.asp

Thanks for all the pieces of advice! :)

I went to the store today and I had a G9 and the reediton of the G5 in my hands.

I was very close to getting the G9 but I went for the new G5 (the G5 that broke down and that I had since two years was with only thumb button) since the G9 in hand felt like it didn't have enough space for your palm.

Oh and when I got back home from the store I noticed that my original G5 has in fact 3 years of warranty and not only one like I was sure it had :/ so, in a month, I'll have a brand new G5 along with the one I bought today :D

EDIT:
what do you guys bind the second thumb button to? I know I just got the G5 with the second button today so I might figure out a use for it in a while but for the past two years in RO with the former G5, I never like it needed an extra button to help me in the vital RO actions... so yeah, what did you bind it to?? :D

@Skew: I have always done that. I'm a finger tip mouse user. :)
That way I don't have to move my whole hand - not even when shuffling in a game.

The Razer Diamondback works great in that regard, because you can hold it wherever you want and you can still click the buttons comfortably, because they aren't just at the front but they range back to the middle of the mouse.
I can move my mouse downwards so far that it presses against my palm, or I can move it upward so far that I have to almost strech my fingers and I can always click with ease.

I have "best weapon" and prone on the 2 thumb buttons. IS and weapon change on wheel and bayo on right button. ;)

I have primary/secondary in the normal spots, IS on the wheel, the forward button I have mount bayo, and the back button I have reload.

I just read the PC Gamer review of the G9, and it stated that with the exception of the increase in dpi, it was a MAJOR STEP BACKWARDS compared to the G5.

I have the G5 and I love it. Looking at the pics of the G9...I would never get it.

Lets hear some reasons, what didn't they like? just saying "they said it's poo" doesen't help anyone make an informed desition ;)

As am I, but I'd imagine it might be better moving the entire hand, so you don't get any friction or delay from having to rely on just a few fingers, and not the entire hand.

A tad off topic, but does anyone know the command to bind Binoculars in RO to a button?

I remapped "4", and now I have to scroll through to get there.
