Pretty much like the title says. If I allow the entire server list to load my internet will crash and won't come back without restarting the modem/router.

Needless to say I get an error when I try to get into the game (Cause my net is down).

The master serv fix works but you have to keep putting the files into the config folder about 3-4 times a day. This is just a temporary fix and there certainly needs to be something more permanent.

Ok I'm going to bump this only because the Master Server fix no longer works. Loading the entire server list causes my internet to crash entirely.

double bump, the server browser is bugged to kingdom come. I alt tabbed out of the game to post this (while waiting for my net to come back) I logged back into the game, hit refresh and my net instantly went out again! Without even loading the list!

There are some serious coding + protocol issues with how the browser handles incoming data.

Sheps, I dont think the trouble is in server-browser. I got the same issue about a year back with all source engine games and few others and after some testing I found out, that the problem was in my network router. While refreshing the server-browser, the game generates massive number of network packets (and receives even more) and some routers can miss-interpret it as DoS attack or UDP flood and they shut down your connection for a while. You can try to dissable firewall or network protection settings on your router but some times the functions are just implemented without any option for you to dissable it:/ That was my issue back then and I had to buy new router.

Anyway, to test this you can set your public IP on your PC and then connect your uplink cable directly to your network card, thus bypassing the router.

You can also try to contact your ISP and ask, if they have any network protection implemented on their network.

Also, I will try to do some network sniffing when I got home from work, to see what RO2 serverbrowser is doing to the network. What I wrote so far, is just theory..

What you wrote, is close to fact. There are some routers (Thomson, BT Home Hub, et al) that have a poorly written rule that shuts down the connection when it receives a flood of packets on a specific set of ports. These ports also happen to be Tripwire's game ports...

What router are you using?

I have telewell TW-EA501 and my connection dies sometimes as well.

I can spam refresh server on other games (TF2, CS:S)

I've got a thomson router and I get this issue too.

Is there any way around it?

Well, check the configuration of your router. If there is any option regarding to "firewall" "DoS protection" or someting .. maybe post some configuration screenshots.
