Practically 90% of the Time I Try To host A Listen Server a Steam Friend gets the Classic "Server not Responding" Steam Message If He Does manage to get passed that (If I give him the Direct IP and tell him to join through that) He'll be Greeted Personally by the "Black Screen Of Death/Doom" which Just sits there letting you stare into the Abyss.

Another Steam Friend Used to Host them Quite a bit of the Time but then I was Greeted by the Classic Server not responding steam Message which lead Towards This in the First Place.

According to the Information I gather from Him he Said he Just "Clicked Host Game and Then Clicked Listen Server and It started up right off the bat, No Port Forwarding Involved.

To My Astoundment I Did Actually Manage to Get it to work Once but then It Just Stopped Working Entirely After that. (Forwarded Port's Through A program.)

I have Forwarded the Ports Killing Floor Requires Followed by this Guide, (Mixing in Some portforward.com Advice) and even Have Enabled UPnP as a Last Resort. (And Yes I also made sure that [UPNP] Enabled=True" Is what the Killing Floor Ini Said.) Which Lead me exactly to the same Conclusion. (Server not Responding Steam Message)

I Really Don't See what else I could be Missing, Why Does it Work for others but not for me.

Is there Any way to Resolve this Fiasco, Permanently Preferably.

I've Searched Google For Hours On end Only to be Presented with a Stale Mate Either with A "Solution" not Working or Various Threads that I've Come Across Addressing this very same Problem Only To end with no one left to Respond.

With the Amount Of People having this Issue I have Yet to See a Solution to it, I Assume This Attempt to Rectify that will end in Vain As Well.

The solution is not to use the Listen server option. Even if it works you will be getting random crashes, even on Short games. It's a known issue.

You can launch a Dedicated server from your client and then start the game again to connect to it. This is my preferred, crash-free way of hosting games for my 2 buddies. Strangely enough, we still have connectivity issues, but the game always manages to connect eventually (after about 3 tries).

This is cause Steam has to verify your account twice through Server & Client. Not a good combination to have on the same machine, it messes with the connections.

I forgot to Mention in the Original Post that I've had this Issue for well over Six Month's.

That being Said, I've Launched Countless Dedicated N' Listen Server Attempt's that Generally All ended in the same way. (Server Not Responding)

Never the Less, I Launched Six Dedicated Server's Apart From Each Other (Today) and they all had the same Result's. (Server Not Responding)

I've also Disable Any kind Of Server Password, and went to the Extent of Checking the KF Ini for any remainder's and Deleted they're Lines. As well as the Ini Itself.

I've Also Seen This Issue Pop up Quite abit Recently, there's Already around 5 Thread's Started on this Page Alone.

Now I've went ahead and grabbed the IP Gathered at whatismyip, that even for me Personally caused Some type of Server crash where I could not Connect. (Joined Through Internet Games > Right Click > Open IP)

Then I went and Copied the Server's actual IP (Dedicated) and Joined through that, (Joined Through Internet Games > Right Click > Open IP > Insert Server IP) and then I managed to get in that time However a Particular Fellow wasn't so Lucky.

As the other Individual Tried to Connect Through the Above Method he was Greeted by the "Attempting to Connect Server", Which went on for Around 5 minute's before saying screw it.

Then I just got him to Favorite it by Going "Favorites> Right Click > Add to favorite's" and with that Result was the Server Name bearing "Unknown Server".

This is like Taking an Already Catastrophe Fiasco and Turning the Dial up to Eleven.

I'm having the exact same issue. I've been messing with my router forever..

Ports opened, etc, etc, etc, still nothing. For awhile there about 6 months ago I could get people to connect if they just spammed the connect button; now that doesn't even work.

Is there a fix for this? It's damn frustrating.
