./steam -command update -game "redorchestra2" -dir /home/torsten/ro2
Checking bootstrapper version ...
Getting version 45 of Steam HLDS Update Tool
Downloading. . . . . . . . . . . .Steam Linux Client updated

That is a good sign....

The placeholders are there for RO2 on the Third Party gameserver list.

^_^ yay!

No files tho... awwww

I'm starting to doubt that there will be a release of the Linux binaries now :(

No feedback regarding this which is a disapointment. Only wanted a one line post saying if this is still planned or not.

If they are to make linux bins they won't do it until all the bug fixes are complete.

Otherwise every time they make a change or fix something, they would also have to do it to the linux version.

Sort of makes sense.

I'm pretty sure they'd have their macros and diff tools to do it quickly.
The content of the code is mostly the same, apart from differences in the file systems.

Besides, if Americas Army 3 (which runs on the UE3 engine too) has a linux server, I am certain that Tripwire can get one going for linux too.

well it would be nice if they would let us know if they are even thinking of making linux bins (either during this patching phase or after they get alll the major kinks worked out).

The number of servers was divided by three since its release and the number of players by nine and still no SDK (Nor of real management of wars)

No, you do not dream. They just sold to us of dream but we can hope for Christmas gifts (there, it is me who dream)

I think you're right because many games now running on windows binary license because of UT3.

Such as the games The Haunted which runs under windows server because Epic does not give permission to do so under linux....
