The lack of swap for anyone means that you unload 20 rounds at someone, most of them miss with the MG as there is a random spread mechanic going on. The enemy might be suppressed by then they jsut pop up and cap you in the face with their laser rifle as they dont have to compensate any aiming issues.

One of the big issues is that if you want an elevated position in a building, you have to deploy on the window seal.

In RO1, you could sometimes find an object to deploy on further back into the room. This is nearly impossible in RO2, I saw a table sitting by itself in the middle of a room and I tried to deploy on it just to see if I could. "Cannot deploy here" pops up. Uh? It's a table, just as big as any stacked sandbags in the game. Why are they handcuffing us?

Also in RO1 you could deploy the MG on a window without going right up to the window. This allowed you to stay further back. But now you have to run all the way up to the window and have your barrel stick out just to deploy (something that is a big no no for MGers in RO1)

So in summary, if you wanted to deploy in a window, you get to stick out like a sore radioactive thumb. Add in the fact that every player is now a world class sharpshooter and you've got MGs being nearly useless.

Dunno if it is my ping, but i'm having a hard time timing my shots using a LMG opposed to other weapons.

But i dont think they are bad, you just need to find a good spot usually further than you would expect from RO1. I'm having more success in covering fire by the sides, where you know they will try to pass than meeting them head-on.

You may want to consider how you are using the MG when you are trying to interdict troop movement and not hitting.

If you are trying to "aim to hit", and hence spraying around them, your chances for hitting are low.

If you are attempting to interdict movement, do it like in real life: center your aim point on a single lcoation, and as the enemy moves into the "fire lane", pull the trigger, but don't chase. let them run into it.

It fills my heart with sadness that aiming in RO2 became too easy in such a way that the MG class (and the AT class as well) is feeling the negative consequence of that.

I have not even played the beta, but I can make up my view pretty well from youtube and this forum :)

What is sadder is that people are still blaming the game, and not their tactics.

MGs are not "front line" weapons. they are support weapons, interdiction and area denial weapons.

Try setting up like that, and the number of times that rifles "one-shoit" you will decrease.
