See firstly the martian is only a few cm high and is very close to the camera/zoomed in and secondly he isnt trying to find his shoe, he's getting sick of his next door neighbour running around naked and thrusting his space stick everywhere and he doesnt want his daughter nor the old granny across the road to see this type of behavior, so he's marching over there to give him a piece of his mind.

It's a statue made by our forefathers who lived on mars and send an asteroid with life in it to earth a billion years ago because mars was experiencing extreme global warming due to high activity by the sun.

Or it's the virgin Mary.
