You can also check out SteamDB - https://steamdb.info/app/232090/graphs/

It has more information about graphs, etc. If you check that out, you'll notice we've had over 100,000 players in the past 2 weeks. I've noticed a trend in people only playing a few times a week recently as they wait for more content. I'd hope once we have more content rolling out, we'll have more players as well!

Yes thats 100 000 players from 796 000 copyes sold. Which is how much? about 8% of the people who bought the game actually play it and seeing that it averages arround 2000 players per day ... also looking at the graphs seeing that both updates brought about 8000 players online and if there was no Free weekends after every update the graphics would never got above 10 000 people ... which on the allmost 800 000 copyes sold is ... just tragic ... no amount of RNG will help you guys ...

Also looking at the players last 2 weeks they went from 216 000 to 129 00 so saying that the 100 000 players for the past two weeks is a good thing then you are no different than this dog:

You need to remember that :
It's not a full game ; It's still a beta.
A lot of people go back to the game after each update.
As long as you don't have to wait more than 2-3 minutes, to start a game, no one really care if the population is 190K or 800K.

If it will be a completely different game then why is it called Killing Floor 2?

They could have called it anything else if they wanted to do a completely different game. You cant make a sequel of something that successfull and lure all the fans to buy it just to say - we are sorry but KF 2 will be a completely different game. Things don't work this way.

Yes, things do work that way. It's called Killing Floor 2, not Killing Floor: Redux. It's a sequel, not a remake. It seems like all you want from games are for each new one to be a 1:1 remake of the previous game. Luckily, that's not how the industry works.

COD, Assassins Creed, Far Cry, etc. I would say it is how part of the industry works. I like the fact that Killing Floor 1 and 2 are different enough that Killing Floor 1 is not made redundant by owning 2. They are different feels and offer different game play, even with similar tactics used.

I wouldn't worry about numbers for now, too hard to predict much based on the information provided. And a good way to keep this game going with only 1,000 people playing is to add friends who play it now, and then organise a game for later. At the moment I play on servers that allow for 15 people, and during the evenings they are full. For some reason, this game seems to have a decent Australian following, which allows for full games at peak times on numerous servers.

No. We just want the good things from KF1, removed the bad things. And add some flavour into it.

Percentages mean very little. Just look at WoW, the "most successful MMO."
It's got about 4 to 5 million subs. How nice right?
It's got more than 100 million accounts.
That'd mean it has an even lower percentage of active users than KF2.

So, you know, no one cares.

For me, i jist dont find KF2 to as fun as the first one.
I do hop into the game when a new major update is pushed out, but then a day or 2 later, im back to playing my other usual games.
It was never like this for me with the first game, was on that game almost all day, to the point where it was my 2nd highested played game (1st being TF2 because free).
Its funny that i still dont have all my perks on lvl 6 or all map achievements despite my 1000+ hours. Bigger reasons to keep playing KF1 despite it being killed off.

A feel the same.
This whole drawn-out Early Access path TWI is taking isnt helping things out either.

Yup. Very few games have a high percentage of active players against sales ratio.

The fact is, kf2 early access has sold x copies, which is why active players = y after z time has passed since release.

A large portion of players who may buy it won't have because it's early access. So, eventually, x will have a big bump and z will be reset to 0 for all of those new x's, along with a sizeable portion of the early access x's. And y will increase.

Then fall again as z increases.

Basically, it's not worth worrying about. So long as there are enough players to get a game.

Daily concurrent players however are still pretty low unfortunately, given that it is an online game, it would benefit from higher number IMO.

Peole who know like math ... know not to compare so saying that no one cares is redundant. Comparing KF2 with WOW has no basics to scale. Also WOW have a lot of free months and I myself have at least 3 different accounts with a free month that I never use again.

So comparing uncomparable statistics proves your ignorance. Please stop posting here.

If there is a game with 3 players and 2 of them don't play it - it's 2/3 of the game population. Is it worse than WOW? No. Does that mean that the game is dead - yes. For this game - it's the end. For WOW it's nothing.

It's uncomparable. You can't compare apples with Mc Donalds ... and saying that no one cares about statistics - ask TWI if they don't care ...

I know I stopped playing shortly after the Gunslinger class went live, and after some initial fooling around with the items, etc. It's weird, I looooooved KF1, and I think KF2 is really good, I just don't think there are enough maps at this point to keep me interested, and some of the Perks I really enjoyed from KF1 are not yet implemented (Sharpshooter) or just suck a bag full of chicken buttholes to play (Demo).

So I am playing other games, and put KF2 on the shelf until more content is released. I don't regret my purchase at all, though! Looking forward to picking the game back up when it's closer to Gold status =) I wouldn't be surprised if others had the same mindset.

We can't say that 10k people lost interest in the game from september to december. Let's not forget december is a big month for updates on many games, not just KF2 that has significantly affected the player count for that month. We shall wait for next big update and see what happens.

this is just... that type of game. Once you hit 25 whats the point? Sure you can argue fun or challenge but being honest, if there's nothing left to work for people loose interest fast. Why play a jrpg when you already have all the best gear and are level capped?

Game gets most fun after lvl25 imo. Whats left to do? new maps, new difficulties.

Although Im not one to listen to, I pretty much only had commando and demo lvl 6 and probably played 200+ hours of doom 2 alone lol.

Yea there are entire genres that can live without a progress bar. Sounds like many people play KF for the wrong reasons and then get less enjoyment out of it than they could.

I think numbers will probably be more consistent once the game is complete and out of Early Access. There are a lot of people who won't buy into Early Access for any game.

You can compare anything, find you the point of comparison. That's really unimportant though.

It's not that the numbers don't matter, it's that your judgement on the numbers is subjective. The game isn't doing fantastic, but I wouldn't call around 2k players "dead." It's an early access title with little content.

I think if we compare KF1 and 2 that KF2 should be much better, but for the moment, it s not for 2 reasons:
- It didn't reach the amount of maps and weapons per class that can give variety... but it needs time I guess
- The players are not the same than in KF1, they democratize the game and we see players that don't realize they are no more on Call Of Duty, that this game is based on solidarity and th goal is not be the one that killed most zeds.... This point is the biggest issue I see in KF2, it s my strong feeling.

Long breaks between content releases and kind of lack of the actual content sure took care of that player base :IS2:
