There have been countless situations where I have failed to kill a proning german or ruskie even though I have stabbed him numerous times in the backside.

Anyone agree with me?

I was behind a Russian yesterday, trying to stab him 5 times...finally got him..what's sad was he was crouched and moving slowly and I was chasing after him...*stab* miss *stab* miss *stab* miss etc...problem is to my screen, all of the stabs are right on him..

me and my friends got tired of this melee crap..so we all agreed just to shoot people unless we are almost out of ammo..

I wouldn't even call this a suggestion, just an annoying bug that needs fixing.

I'm pretty sure its not a bug, just the result of the bayonet's range. Hopefully they can extend it a few inches so I can finally stab those annoying proned MG's :D.

It probably isn't an issue of range, there is a very noticeable impact effect and impact sound. The issue is that the impact effect and sound are that of your bayonet hitting wood, not a proned meatbag. There is a similar issue when trying to melee players that are in cover, or only half concealed by a waist high wall. Stab at the face, nice impact effect right on their throat except wood bits fly out instead of blood/gore.

I can't complain.... it has saved my arse countless times against bots in single player :D

In MP, I usually run off with the bayo ready for stab, then when I get near an enemy, I let go, shank em' and then automatically fire once just to make sure they die..... when it comes to people being prone, I just shoot them.

Not because the bayo/melee doesn't work on prone people (haven't bothered to try) but because it's quicker.
