Thank god this is only a case on US servers ... I have only once met an !a!sshole admin on UK and Russian servers but I really don't pay attention to them just ignore and move on ...
I've had this. Me and two of my members have been banned for "knowing our rights" on a public server. They told us "it's our server, we do what we want". Well I say ,l, to them because if it's public, you respect the public until it gets out of hand. All I said is how boring the server was because people were glitching, sitting there shooting and nothing happened.

I also went on a random server also once again and found the host playing with a password and joined his HoE server. He told me that he is admin and went alright for...10 minutes. He said I had to leave to let his mate in...I said no im playing, password your server if it's for friends only. "no, it's my server, I do what I like". Then password it..."no".

If admins can't even learn how to host a proper server, don't ever host and tell the players how to run your server. I've been hosting since I was 8 (yeah yeah, I know I was young but I loved playing UT99, Quake series, duke nukem...I could go on forever on my oldskool PC that can't even run UT99 properly :D ). I told him I host my own community and apparently i've been hosting all wrong (was what he said afterwards).

Public hosting = For the players.
Private hosting = For the few people you choose to play.

learn the difference admins!

I don't know man, to be fair, the server is his property, whether it's "public" or not. I see it as a sort of supply and demand thing. If he's really out of line people won't want to join, but in the end it's his hardware/dosh, so it's his call.

That is very true but if he makes it public, it's for public use too. If you really want to make it only for you and your friends, password it.

Um, okay?
I go on that server most of the time?
I have no problem there?
I had no idea this was going on with it?

Why all the question marks? You sound like you are questioning yourself....

And of all people, I would have figured that you would have known about Lenny and his ttsangels servers. If you haven't read this thread, or the others made, then basically Lenny is some server owner who is really sexist, unfair, very pervert by hitting on girls and then if he doesn't like their response then he trys to shame them on the web and of course, bans them. If you don't play his gameplay style (like, kiting vs camping) or even change exact perks that he says, then he will kick you and possibly ban you. If the team loses, and if he is the last one, then he blames everyone for losing (possible ban for everyone), and if he dies in a late wave, then he forces map to change (or at least he did with me two times). Of course, if you read the other responses on here, then you will get a better understanding of him.

TL;DR If you are able to play on his servers and not piss him off, then good. If not, then well, welcome to the club.

Bull, i went to some modded russian server and got kicked (or banned whatever) for god knows what reason, i was just a medic healing other players or atlease killing **** with no problem and then the sign poped up. **** them :p

I usaually get kicked from servers if i purposely do something. Another time i was on a boosting server and started to spawn fleshpounds for a raping spree, another player wanted to do it too and i quickly blamed it on him, he got kicked lol, but then i got all the players killed and left because i realized "WTF am i doing here and not playing a damn game"

Why all the question marks? You sound like you are questioning yourself....
Because i want to add question marks?
Because i sound like a dumb blonde?
Is it wrong for me to add question marks?

I agree, if there is an open field without any clear indication it is your property and you don't want the public to use it, put up a sign saying "no Trespassing" (my metaphor to this regard). Passworded servers are the best form of private digital property considering the internet is the most vague thing regarding digital property and intellectual property. Copyrights the most silly yet necessary thing since toasted bread.

Public access does not mean no rules. Go into a restuarant and bring your own food and see how they react. Go into a movie theatre and make a lot of noise and see how they react. Don't bathe for several weeks and go into any public place and see how people react.

Lenny might be a duche, but its on his property. He has his rules. The public is welcome if you play by his rules. Not your rules, not general rules for public gaming, no normal socially accepted rule, but his rules.

It is not a publicly funded server, its not publicly owned server, its not a publicly administered server. Its like the guy is throwing a party at his house and its open to anyone who shows up. He wants to act like a duche? His house. You do something that you feel is appropriate but he wants to throw you out? His house his rules. Just because you open it to the public does not mean you can't make rules on public use. Even unfair, stupid, unclear, inconsistent rules.

You don't understand the point of the whole thing. Lenny bans for no reason and always has done. my point above is to remember if you want to be play with friends, password it. Public means rules as I do this myself, don't go by the rules, get out. No one is saying you can break rules on a public server.

We're not trying to say since it's a public server it's a free for all, of course it's not I have a server and it has rules too. We are originally just criticizing at how Lenny handle's situations such as random bans and kicks and how he treats players that play with him. But yes I do agree with you on the line of "it's his house, it's his rules we're just guests"

As said since it's his server he can do whatever he likes to on it. He seems to have some real problems by the way. Everybody has his/her own opinion how to rule a server. I'm very fair for usual and let the people play how they like except when somebody ruins the game or does stupid things on purpose.
My question is: People said they were banned from many servers at once as far as I understood. Are these servers all being owned by Lenny?

Technically anything that has TTS fallen angels in it is owned by Lenny, as for the many other servers they maybe banned from currently aren't own by Lenny but by his "friends" who basically ban whoever he suggests to ban.

Let me just say that he constantly monitors (i'm assuming via rcon?) all his servers. And if you slip up and join one of his on accident, which i have twice, he will hunt you down and kick/ban you if he doesnt like you. Sometimes I dont even look at the server name as much. Mainly map/ping/people playing. Although in hindsight He must kick/ban by name b/c i went back in the same server under a different name and was able to play it out.

Imagine a restaurant where you can't bring your own food. Perfectly normal, right?

The waiter comes along to take your order, and recommends the daily special, a casserole. But you came here for the steak. So you order steak.

The waiter goes to the kitchen, grabs a casserole dish, and throws it in your face. Then he kicks you out of the restaurant.

That's Lenny in the restaurant analogy.

I tottaly diagree with this statement. A public server is not anyones house and I am not a guest in a server I am a privilege. To have someone who can play the game, work with a team, help new players and so on and so on is a privilege. The admin should ban people like this Lenny guy and his friends not the other way arround ...

On the Internet.
I have to agree with RuMan. You're a guest when you join someone else's server.

Say the server owner is a group of three and there's 3 slots open on his server. Everyone's happy. But if that third person is late to join and some random (no negative connotation; just someone who joined randomly) joins the server. Asking for that person to leave and kicking them if they don't is completely valid.

If the scenario changes and there's 3 of them and only 2 slots free on the server, if the game hasn't started yet, then I would find it acceptable if the owner asked if one of them could leave and, if they didn't, I think it's valid to just kick one randomly. However, if the game was already in progress I'd expect them to just use a random server until their server has space (if they're really keen on using their own).

I think you misunderstood what I wrote earlier, what I'm trying to say is since Lenny is the owner of his servers it's his rules like it's his "home" anyone that joins to play on his server is a visitor/guest. That is what I was trying to state earlier.

Well, in my opinion he can do whatever he wants. It's his server, he pays for the hardware and has the trouble with updating etc. I agree with the majority here that his rules and his behaviour is bull**** but he's free to do that stuff because he's the "landlord".

Everyone that doesn't like him and his way of playing (that includes me although I never thought about joining one of his servers because I'm from Europe) should, and that's just my opinion, simply not join any of his servers. I don't see the point in having thousands of threads explaining what a big douche he is, just ignore him and play on different servers. If everyone did that he wouldn't have the publicity and soon nobody would play on his servers anymore.
