So NVidia posted a bunch of new drivers yesterday, for Win7 x64 and Vista and others. Driver version is 285.62 - get it here:
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Anyone had any experience with them? For me it seems to be bit more stable on 60+ fps but still dips down in the 40s with lots of gunfire around, and on 64-player servers.

Seems to be mostly fixes for BF3 of course...

Gives me atrocious performance and stuttering while playing BF3 on my 285GTX. Haven't tried it on RO2 as I rolled-back immediately, my old drivers give me decent performance on everything.

It seems I'm not the only one who has the problem, other 285 users and some 460 users get a performance drop and constant stuttering when updating to those drivers.

No difference at all in RO2 but a total disaster on BF3.. Why is it when they seem to put fixes into drivers that I never had issues with in the first place they end up breaking things..

I have the new drivers but I can't really say if they make the game any better because I never played after the last large patch with optimisations without these drivers.

Game for me is still unplayable on anything except Spartanovka and Danzig sadly.

I downloaded the video drivers last night but completely forgot about them and didn't install. This thread just reminded me i had the update sitting on my hard drive back home.

When I head home, I'll update and let you know how it goes for my GF 210-4Gig

Originally in the Beta and early release stage of RO2, I was averaging around 15-16 fps at 1024x768 resolution and everything set to Ultra...... lowering my settings from Ultra didn't change my fps.

Over the last few weeks I made some tweaks and config changes and I boosted myself up to 23 fps (sames settings as above)

With any luck, this new update might bring it up more...... not that it matters to me, as I was still kicking arse at 15 fps and in the top 5 on my team.... anything beyond 15 fps is just a bonus for me :IS2:

(I used to be top ranks in TFC using a 33.6k modem, 320x240 hardware resolution at 20 fps)

Horrible

Horrible

I experienced for first time the "No sound bug" after installing the 285.62 driver -_-. Rolling back to 275.33.

Myself and a few friends have been having game breaking issues with Killing Floor recently and it turns out to be the 285.62 drivers. I've rolled them back and the problems are all gone. I submitted a replicable bug report to nvidia 10 days ago but not had a reply.

Any one else having any of these problems?

At least one and normally more than one of the following problems will occur during a single game of the multiplayer:

1. Entire sections of the 3D levels/maps stop being rendered (i.e. are transparent).

2. Certain shaders in the game start to get exaggerated.

3. Certain 3D models start being rendered as cubes or triangles.

4. Certain polygons once rendered are seemingly never cleared / culled.

5. Certain shaders in the game start to be rendered as polygons. This problem is worsened when issue 4 is occuring at the same time.

Some screenshots showing what I mean:

I have seen with installing a nvidia driver that when you look into your config/system/device manager that nvidia also installs software for your sound. I have that part deinstalled.
