Will Rising Storm feature Last Ditch weapons?

Even if its just different models, i think it'd be a cool feature to add.

Although I'm one of the assholes who's always been a fan of jamming weapons (as long as they can be unjammed).

It could be a nice way to show the increasing desperation of the japanese forces(as in RO2). Not only are the soldiers getting more ragged and war torn throughout the war, but their weapons are getting crappier.

Of course this would only really be noticeable in campaign.

Also, there could also be an "elite" rifleman class who would get one of the early, well made rifles.

If jamming is off the table, maybe their "crude sights" could give a slight accuracy disadvantage.

Yea, or just make them have to resort to using Japanese weapons or outdated rifles like the Springfield. Would simulate a lack of supplies or the inability to supply newer weapons/ammunition like the Garand.

And here I though we were discussing martyrdom perk or similar last tand thingy. So should the differences be only cosmetic for japanese or what?

Could make losing team have slightly less accuracy and more worn uniforms and weapons.

Simple sights also wouldn't have the aircraft sight indicators.

Though don't know how common it was for riflemen to actually shoot at aircraft (maybe they could shoot recon planes?), but it would be a nice small disadvantage to represent war weariness.

I always liked working out how to use the sights on the binoculars in RO, so it'd be cool to have something similar.

Ah, but those AA-sights can be used to shoot a yankee who is thrown high into air by Imperial artillery and unlock an achievement.

Seriously, even if the lack of AA-sigts in last ditch weapons would show war wearines I think that those shouldn't be implemented. They'd just be more work for nothing real purpose. Except being real:D

Well the "crude" sights could have slightly worse accuracy aswell.

Not sure it would be too much work to put in. The model for the main type 99 could still be used, with just the bolt and sights, with a slightly altered texture to show the wooden buttplate, and poorer construction value.

If Rising Storm is going to feature an online campaign like RO2, i think this would be a really nice feature to have, for marginal effort.

In the online campaign for RO2, players will be able to vote on 'resource tickets', to decide how much supplies get provided for a given battle.

If the Japanese side starts running low on these tickets, then 'Last Ditch' weapons would start appearing in greater number. It makes a nice (realistic) change, rather than simply having less special weapons or grenades.

Balance can easily be achieved in the same way, except the Americans would just have older weapons, or not as much ammo/grenades or whatever.

ye the lasst ditch rifles should be given to beginner riflemen, whilst as you rank up etc, you can unlock/ purchase or w/e the older improved better versions of the arisaka rifles (type 38, 44 etc). Or if not, perhaps a type 99 but without it with all the crudeness, as if it was made properly. I agree the last ditch weapons should have slightly reduced accuracy, apparently they shoot more to the right.
