I'd like to see a larger emphasis on the squads rather then the classes, a simple switch over making the squad menu default would *hopefully* increase team play and make it easier for squad leaders and commanders to play as a team.
It'd also be nice if the squads were greatly emphasised in the 'TAB' menu so people can instantly and clearly see who's in their squad and who's the commander. It'll also make it a bit more ordered instead of just a list of names with no real order or design.

This also reduces the herp-derp 'elite' weapons whoring players, force them to join and fill up the squads!

At the moment people really just squbble over classes and don't really pay any attention to the idea of working together, yet another CoD-inducing style of play. By promoting squads and by proxy team play it'll keep a lot of the realism community happy and certainly reduce the general headless-chicken style gameplay I frequently see.

It's an easy thing to implement and could (quite easily) be a serverside option so you don't get people complaining 'OMG why can't I get the Mkb42' etc.

There's a problem with the squad menu..I can't scroll down, even if I did, the menu just pops back up and same goes for my friends...they need to fix that...

And a problem with squads is that you can't pick the weapons you want, which is pretty sad..like I want to use a mp40, but guess what, all the assault spots in that squad is full, I have to be a rifleman. A few times is fine, it gets annoying after 10 rounds I am still a rifleman and cannot select other classes. If I want to be in same squad as my friends, I have to be a rifleman..

When we bought the game, it was based off the impression of RO1 where the maps are huge, so we can play in a squad and have fun, but guess what, Ro2 is small..And no one seems to give a rat's a** about playing as a squad..fighting over weapons is the way this game is played....

Similar ideas have been suggested earlier. TWI has not responded yet. I bet they still think that their new squad system is the next best thing since sliced bread and just ignore any contrary opinions...

Ahh thanks Atkins, apologies to the guy that originally posted the idea.

I miss the squad system we had in RnL, it has such a huuuuuge focus on team play. Not like this. It's more-or-less telling us to act like John Rambo and not work together so we can collect as many honour points and awesome-sauce K.Ds ALL THE TIME

Wel obviously they need to fix the one they have, but I think if TWI don't do it a modding team will a.s.a.p. But I hope TWI are reading the constant complaints and suggestions calling out for a more team based realism game, instead of the lovechild between CoD, RO1 and the BF series in some strange three-way.

Imo the RnL squad system lacked the effectiveness as well. Only thing keeping the squad together was the reason that u could only see the SL in the minimap. RnL needs some of the innovations from BF2, as does RO2.
