Hi.

Posted this:

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?p=35965694#post35965694

...and this, already on steam forums:

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=35965691&postcount=67

I want to run a linux dedicated server, and i have steam working on Ubuntu 14.10 LTS, and also have KF installed on it.

But steam will not let me reopen KF to play on it on my windows machine (main pc).

Its' quite frustrating.

This is also, relevant to my post here:

http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=103702

...provided steam, would actually let me run multiple instances of KF. Without asking me to boot, the other one off steam. >_<

Thank you.

~Catinthebrain.

PS: i will gladly pay for a non-steam related release if i have too; so i can host a dedicated linux server, that i can play off my windows machine in the one i bought off steam.

Please tell me a work around for this problem.

I think i thought of a solution.

I will just create a new steam account matching my linux account, and re-buy the game as it seems steam pipe which is now know as steamcmd for linux: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamCMD#Linux

Is my answer, possibly. As then i will have two steam accounts and won't have to be restrained by steam's stupid policies. (HA it worked) had to rebuy the game, but w/e. Now i just gotta get the dedicated server setup, with steamcmd and i'm all good; now i can still play on my windows box, while linux hosts.

Sweet!

Thank you.
