Lack of mods aside from maps?

I'd like to see a mod where the characters are replaced by nude females with realistic breast physics. I think any real (ie. straight) man would like to see this.

I'm sure it'd be very popular. ;)
Do you like, have this 'insult people' button you press right after you make your post? Because that's all you seem to do. Besides, I thought real men went out and found girl friends.

I'm not knocking anyone who takes the time to do realistic breast physics or whatever. If that's all your capable of doing, more power to you. I'd like to see some real mods though.

You are talking about videogame pixel nude entertainment...

...

Oh hell this is going nowhere.. Whatever, pervs.
Prude. ;) I'm joking anyway, though I do feel such a mod would be popular. I wouldn't personally have any desire to use it though. I'd like to see more serious things, just like you guys.

I don't remember saying anything inflammatory, so no? Please elaborate. :)

I fail to see how any modifacation to the game, does not qualify as a modifcataion to the game in your eyes. Considering that "mod" is short for "modifacation", which obviously embraces a pretty wide spectrum.

A mod is something that changes the game significantly.

Downloading a skin, a map, sound replacements, etc are not mods in any real sense. Mods either add features or change gameplay.

For example, Killing Floor used to be a UT mod. Compare KF and UT. See how the differences go far beyond skins, models, and sounds? That's what makes it a mod.

Look at all the mods for HL2/Source. See how they completely change the way the game works? Those are mods.

Models or skins are not mods any more than custom maps are. In fact, maps are closer to mods, since they actually affect gameplay and can have custom game-modes or other changes in them.

Could someone make a cross hair mod(or mut, whatever it is) for me? No need for white list.
Or, I'd be very happy if someone can shed me some light as how making such thing possible. I'm waaay hate the current aiming system. In my opinion, cross hair is a must for all FPS game.

I'm glad ppl adds 'Their opinions'. Some person earlier made a thread that crosshairs are MUST. In my opinion, I hate crosshairs. I like the realistic aiming, the iron sight. That's why I enjoy KF much more than every other game I know.

If you really MUST see naked females with 'realistic breast physics', there are numerous porn sites that'll have that for you, without all the effort of modding it into a game...

All putting stuff like that in games does is give the ESRB and over-zealous anti-videogame groups stuff to complain about, while also making the game look much, much less mature in general to anyone new to it that sees it...people need to grow up...

Anyway, back on topic, as someone said, the Unreal Engine is much more difficult to mod in than the source engine. Most of the source 'mods' are just client-side reskins/sound swaps that don't change anything but looks or sounds...

You look at L4D or TF2, and there are literally hundreds of mods pertaining to skin, sound, modeling and then some.

In KF, a game where modding is supported and encouraged, all I've yet to see are maps.

Why? Is it that difficult, if Neigh impossible to skin characters/weapons? To model them differently? Moreso, is it possible to take a model and skin from a mod for another game (Aforementioned TF2 and L4D) and implement it (with some coding) into this one? If so, it could save a lot of time, if only it could be implemented.

Though I doubt that is the case, considering I can only imagine we would be running around with all the weapons from counterstrike and rainbow six, as well as CoD by this time. Regardless though, why?

do you realize how long the standalone version of KF has been out?

mods take time to make. plus, there's the fact that you have to get a mod whitelisted in order for it to not disable perks.

Exactly... I was getting worried if I'm surrounded by 10 year-old boys in KF world cuz they want to see pixelated naked Sh1t in a VIDEOgame so bad. I just don't get it what's so fascinating in it. As you said, there are numerous of porn sites to see that, if that's really, really necessary to see.

Grow up people.

Umm...look at Half-Life...not HL2 but the first...good majority of the old and still presently awsum mods...besides Sven Coop are just a group of maps sumone made...

So technically maps are mods...

An excellent example is Blue Shift or Opposing Force...now they are standalone these days...but technically they were mods first...and well they are basically just new maps...they also easily just change skin models and have a few new ones...

Do you know the history behind those games?...they originally were just mods...Valve tho bought the rights tho and released them as fool blown standalone games...

So now we're talking about history of games. What an interesting topic. The hilarious point is that, it's the history of games that specifically those games, not KL. Gentlemen, this is a KL discussion board. Plz, focuz on the topic, plz.

For example, what about this? I need a crosshair for KL. Some said not necessary, but I seriously need it. Could anyone make it for me? That should be called a mod, right?

Or, give me some advice as where to look at to make it. I dont know anything about programming, yet. But I got time, and determination, to some extend, of course. Thanks for reading.

I'm glad ppl adds 'Their opinions'. Some person earlier made a thread that crosshairs are MUST. In my opinion, I hate crosshairs. I like the realistic aiming, the iron sight. That's why I enjoy KF much more than every other game I know.

Dear Griever, I admire your way of *realistic*-ize things in KL. I suppose you got an underground floor completely replicate BioticLab map, and are trying to create specimen, eh? That's why I enjoy KF much more than every other game I know.
It's a joke, in every mean possible. Thus, if you take it as a joke, feel free to respond. Otherwise, just disregard it. I promise I wont send my army of fleshpound to you just because you can't animate a clot.

PS, I've successfully created a stalker. You dont happen to have an IR-enhanced vision, do you? lol

Eh, a joke? Since when I can't express my own opinions about things in videogames, without getting called em as a joke? That's just my damn opinion, I like realistic stuff in videogames. Now leave me alone..

PS: sorry for my bad english.

*Sigh*

Griever, I believe he was referring to the running joke about people mentioning REALISM in a game about ZOMBIES (Something that is absolutely NOT real). It's a common, recurring joke in MANY games of the genre (Left 4 Dead gets it a lot)

He wasn't calling you or your opinions a joke...

Anyway, I can't afford my own biotics lab. I do, however, have a dog that can plow through people faster than any Fleshpound could hope to...

But they are not undead (Zombies). In fact each one is a living red blooded entity. Zombies do not explode in to bright red full oxygenated blood cells (I should know since I work with a few). Therefore since we can only agree categorically that they are alive and kicking and not in fact dead Zombies then REALISM[sic] should apply in Killing Floor.

Yup, you're correct. Now, if you excuse me, gentlemen, I got a arm to cut and a big gun to replace. If tomorrow you see a freak running lose, with a HUGE gun instead of the left arm, and a sign read "Bio666", you'll know that it's me. I dont want to mess with the name of the boss, in case it's already Tripwire trademark lol

Know why I also got a BIG right eyeball? Because I *** ******* **** **** need a *** ***** ***** crosshair.

Just for fun, but if you really think realism should apply to KF, plz, tell me where to buy a fleshpound. I want to let it give Nanostrike's dog a memorable battle.

Please, could some one shed me some light about a crosshair? UT has it, so it must be hid somewhere. I cant believe there's not a second one with the same need as me. If someone has already made it, where is it? Or, just please, show me where to lookt at to make one. Co'on, guys

This topic in a nutshell.

TC: "Hey guys, wouldn't it be cool if there were more mods other than maps coming out for KF?"

Poster 1: "Yeah, I think so. It's kind of funny how most mods turn out to be nude skins for the female characters though."

Poster 2: "Games don't need nude mods."

Poster 3: "People like them"

Poster 2: "I DON'T LIKE THEM AND THEY SHOULD NEVER BE PUT IN GAMES"

Poster 3: "People like them and download them, nothing is wrong with them *Troll face is on*"

Poster 2: "HURRRR DURRR! FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF! BLARGhAG!"

Every other post in the topic: "DERP DERP DERP DERP DERP DERP DERP DERP!"

That is all.

F**k off with the crosshair crying, If you cant aim without a crosshair you cant aim at all, and anyways when i look through a crosshair it looks invisible since they are so thin...

Use your eyes, Notice where you shoot and where it lands, Use the ironsights if you have too.

IF you still cant do it try the bullpup if you still fail. Commite suicide, YOU CANT PLAY AN FPS SON.

Started off funny. I had great hopes. Wilted towards the end through lack of comedic content. You missed out on a free hit on the realism topic which always fires up the 'Want an easy life' crowd. Nice try nevertheless.
