I would love this, myself.

Here's an idea of how it could be realistic in terms of infection and spread:

Instead of being thrust into a swarm of zombies, a player starts in a location of his choice in a rather large city, and he's basically having a normal day, and there's a few (less than 10) zombies that spawn in random places in the map and infect people who turn at a rather fast rate, making a greater total of zombies as time goes on.

The beautiful thing would be having the possibility to kill those 10 zombies BEFORE they can infect others, thus ending the infection on the first day. :D

That would make a great objective, really. To try and drop the infection.

In about a game hour, the 10 would be 20, then 20-40 then 40-80 average.

80 zombies in 3 game hours. :IS2:

Urban Dead was good back in the days. Now I think it's pretty much dead. It was a text based browser rpg.

Urban Dead is good for the first....mmmmm...5 days. Once you get your essential skills up though, the game really falls through. What should keep you playing, the social aspect, the surviving, fall through. Staying connected to people is hard, you get PK'd by random dicks all the time...and it's just hard to get a sense of all the awesome going on that is the city.

If it was real-time and isometic, I'd probably still be playing.
