The Tank is a wuss against a fireteam equipped with frying pans.

There's no way Fleshy wouldn't obliterate him once he closed distance. :D

Only based off the fact that the FP can survive a LAW rocket or two means the FP will probably win.

I really didn't notice this until now, but the FP is wearing socks? (O.O)

.
Tank health is 8000 on Expert and the Fleshpound health is 5906 at 6 players on Suicidal. If it's those stats, the tank has more health but the FP is more maneuverable. I guess it really depends on who gets the first hit in and if the Tank in question is good at aiming his magic rocks.

You cant really compare the health and damage values since its a different game.

Husk can kill the tank in 1 hit.

Rofl yeah.

And about Tank conjuring those rocks out of thin air, surely fp can smash its way straight through.

The engine would probably have to be source considering it has destructible environments and better effects and the unreal engine can't do all the fancy things source can do, unless of course TWI kinda gives me the C files to Killing Floor and lots of reading... :IS2:

I think the point of the topic was imagining Fleshpounds and L4D Tanks were real, and if so, which one would beat the crap out of the other.

So forget about ingame variables, engine and other nonsense. Its two different games you cant compare their stats together like you would do when comparing eg. fleshpound to a scrake or tank to a boomer. Thats what I was trying to explain earlier but I was on my phones internet browser so typing isnt exactly that fast so I had to shorten it up.

Unless OP had something else in mind :S?

absolutely not, I prefer to take it in depth as deep as possible.

though one thing is picking at my mind, it is true that the fleshpound is a reinforced cyborg, but his true threat is in his arms, how easy would it be for the tank to break the fleshpounds arms? or even rip one off in a fit of rage? would the fleshpound then have a chance to fight maimed in one arm?

I'd have to give my vote to the Fleshpound, based on the fact that IRL his fleshgrinders would shred through the Tank. Add to this that he can become enraged, and boasts armour; he's the clear victor.

I suspect it would be slightly less of a problem than with other fighters, since the fp's modus operandi when you watch its body language ingame is more to place the grinder in harm's way and let it do its work, than to really build up force and swing. You do lose a bit of leverage and thus damage capability, of course, so it will take a lot more maneuvering to be effective.

Anyway, if we're in WestLondon my money's on the tank... throw burning vehicle, set fp on fire, run off, get hit once, keep running, throw another burning vehicle. You take damage a couple times but the fp's taking damage the whole time.

Besides that, though... with the right timing I think a tank would have the reach to get around the pounders and grab the fp by the head or leg and throw him.

Clearly no one in here has actually played L4D against a good tank. While the FP is at a distance he would be getting pelted with rocks and having cars flung at him if any are within decent range. The FP gets close and the Tank's massive punches would send him back to the other side of the map. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

The Tank might be a little worse for the wear when all is said and done, but the FP wouldn't get enough melee time to really do any damage.

The pound is not a boss like the tank.
That's why I said there's always more than just one at the same time.

It would make more sense to pit the tank against the patriarch.

Tank vs Pat would be an interesting one. Though no health vials, otherwise it'd be an easy win for Pat when he can run away and heal 3 times.

Unreal 3 actually does have fancy-pants effects and destructible environments. :IS2:

Now the tank might win if he boasts advanced tactics agenst the fleshpound, but were not talking game wise but realistically and according to the lore.

The tank is not very sentient meaning who wouldnt pull off advanced tactics to help him win. He would charge at him, screaming and bolstering like a savage ape, and would only throw things at the fleshpound if he gets impatient and cant get his hands on him fast enough. Hes a mutation through a virus Which left him in a savage state which left him with no sentience, meaning he wouldnt pull off hit and run tactics like an intelligent player would in the game.
