I have seen "King Kong" today and I must say that I love this movie.
The computer effects are awesome and the ending almost made me cry.
And on top of that it has a very good cast (Thomas Kretschmann, yeah!).

The movie was awesome imo. The effects were greater than any I've ever seen. The beginning as kinda slow and I found myself saying, "Where's the ape?!!?", but wait was rewarding. The rest of the movie was incredible. I too just nearly cried at the end... poor misunderstood monkies.

Only thing I didn't like was when the 2-foot-long creepy, crawly bugs came. They remind of spiders, which I am freaked to death of.

And we made Narnia...
And we were the first to win the Americas cup of the Americans.

And its raining cold and windy no wonder we make good movies and are top sailors.(its summer here)

Peter Jackson is arachnophobic too... guess he likes to make movies with give him the creeps :D

And concerning the movie: saw i yesterday, and I am stunned. Quite impressive piece of work, and it is really a jack of all trades: You've got action, horror, fanatsy, comedy, romance, drama and a damn big ape in one single movie!
And I liked how it was totally not political correct: The heroes smoking and the black natives of the island are wild and bloodthirsty :D Allthough I think he recycled the LotR orc teeth for them...

Saw it last night - it is FAR TOO LONG. Don't get me wrong, I love my films epic in length, but this just felt stretched. Towards the end it started to get a rather silly.

A good film none the less, mainly due to the awesome CG of kong himself.

Watched it last night. It was absolutely incredible. My only complaint is the beginning dragged out far too long. I wanted to get to the island :( But after that it was 2 hours of adrenaline rush.

yea i'd have to agree, the chase sequences, the character designs, the acting all supurb, well except for that cheesy line at the end.

Cheesy line had to stay. It was a signature line from the original (yes there was another King Kong movie;) ).

Reminds me of a net cartoon I saw, one guy bitching at another for telling him that he thinks it's a shame kong dies at the end, "spoiling" the ending for him. The point made is that it's a 70 year old film, so any plot twists should be fairly common knowledge by now. Ends with him giving away the twist at the end of the passion of the christ....for thosde of you who haven't seen it jesus dies.

The film isn't just a remake it is a solid tribute to what is probably peter jackson's favourite film of all time.
