here is the console log

and the killingfloor.log

http://sprunge.us/HERP

the following things i have tried, verify cache, remove ini files, re-install killing floor, reinstall steam, reinstall os x.

none of which solved killing floor not starting. installed windows 7 on the same machine "macbook pro 7,1" and it runs fine.

Joining a game by selecting a friend in steam and hitting join game, killing floor starts and plays normally. Still this is the only way i have found in which i can launch the game which isn't really helpful if nobody i know is playing on a server with free spots.

Similar problem. Worked fine yesterday.

Clicking the game icon (double-, right-) and game prepares to launch only to stop.

Verified cache and re-installed. Still won't fully launch.

Have not tried work-around.

Mac specs:
OS 10.6.8
processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
memory: 2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

At everyone:

Could you, please, post the version of your mac os X, mods on KF and games on steam?

I just have portal 2 and kf with no mod (apparently) and Mac OS X 10.7.3. I haven't updated to 10.7.4 yet, but I think KF crashes on start only on 10.7.4.

Also the only 'system mod' I did to my KF was to solve the cache thing mentioned here so you might want to try it: http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=48642

So far my KF has not given me any troubles and the summer event works fine since first day avaiable. I also was able to unlock Mr. Foster.

I have the same problem, OS X version 10.7.4
Can't launch the game as usual since the upgrade.
Reinstalled Steam, KF, removed preferences, etc.

The only way to play is to join a friends game. And for that, I need a friend online that is actually playing in a not full server....
I suspect that the problem is Steam related, as I can launch the game from the Finder. Of course, I can't connect to Steam that way, so it does not make much sense...

I hope somebody will come up with something, but I guess it's up to Steam or Tripwire to find something, as complete reinstall does not help (at least for me).

Okay, this is getting a little tedious. I'm on mac OS X version 10.6.8, and it was working fine (if you disregard the unknown steam error bug) until now.

I got it to run fine this morning, played a bit of solo. But now, just 2 hours later, it suddenly refuses to work. I get the title screen for about 3 seconds, then it just quits. Not even an error message to report.

I used to really love this game, but now it won't even launch? This is utterly ridiculous. It needs to be fixed ASAP.

EDIT: I found a workaround! this guy seems to have figured it out!
In the launch options (Properties -> Set Launch Options), put "-window" in without quotes and it should work again. That's what happened to me, I used to play windowed and for some reason the launch option became needed for the app to not blow itself up.
