I'm surprised they didn't add west london to kf2.
Like why not?
Most veteran players i know that own kf2 ,
Are playing kf1 instead.
Is not just about the newest graphics, it's about the gameplay.
Like half life 1 , gta san andreas, or mario bros 3.
We still rocking killing floor 1, on steam.
I did actually play a bit more KF1 something like three years ago. It was pleasant to explore all the old maps, see the old models, come back to a more sober and simpler form of gameplay, hear the soundtrack, and even tackle the old custom-made content!
But I personally couldn't play it anymore... Not because of the graphics or animations as you said, but simply because in some areas : the gameplay really is TOO simple, even more so when you got to familiarize with KF2. Not being able to sprint, not having some useful tools as your perk of choice, lacking some of the great weapons that came afterwards. Killing Floor 2 isn't just a shinier and fancier version with more content. It also contains many quality-of-life improvements. So for that reason, I can't really come back to KF1.
As for not adding West-london... Maybe they didn't feel like it? They wanted to move forward rather than simply rehash everything from KF1 (considering we got some mutual characters and weapons, I'd say that's more than enough). The only classic map that was brought back was Bioticslabs, and even then it looks massively different from the first version. And I don't blame them. Remember the tagline (at least prior to the game release) was that the zeds took over Europe, not just the UK anymore. It wouldn't make sense to fight in London... Besides, they were among the first modded maps for the game anyway.
(And my favourite happens to be GTA : Vice City ;-) )
