I KNOW, i know that killing floor is already really computer requirement friendly, but after spending a few hours figureing the split screen of ut3 and l4d, i thought how awsome it would be to have that option on killing floor too! i have no experience in the software development field or game making, but is it difficult ( or even possible ) to mod something like that into killing floor? just for offline? or is it something tripwire has to code into the core of the game? I kno ppl will be like OMG THIS ISNT L4D. i know its not, it just gave me the idea :p.

There is no hidden splitscreen mode like l4d bc the engine is only designed for PC.
i know, i just was wondering if it is possible for modders to create a split screen mode. i figured thats a negitive, but i wanted to know if its something that has to be designed in from the start of the game or not.

My own personal hell
Most computer games don't support split screen (I wonder if there is a reason). I had to deal with not having a decent computer (Windows 95 until XP Service Pack 1 was released) and not having my own computer until a few years ago. So I'm very partial to split-screen.

However... Very few people would use the feature and I probably would not be worth tripwire's time to implement a feature like that. Expecially because KF isn't very difficult to run. I have seen someone run it on a netbook (although at unplayable framerates. 10ish I think).

The engine is capable enough and it would be completely possible via mod but nothing is going to allow proper input. UE uses DirectInput, buttons can be mapped but Windows funnels axis input from any device(s) into a single output. You can plug in several mice/controllers "configure" them but moving the axis on any of them will control everyone's view.
