This is a Glossary for all people new to Killing Floor which expands on Sniperdragon's original one. If any of the KF oldies see something missing, please pm me and I'll add it. Like Sniperdragon, I will not add people unless they are really well known, should be avoided, or have contributed something major to the game.

-Names in RED
-Clans in GREY
-Weapons in YELLOW
-Specimens in GREEN
-Terminology in BLUE
-Maps in PINK
-Classes in ORANGE

A)
Alex Quick
He was the core developer of the mod, before it was turned over to the hands of tripwire. Now still working closely with the tripwire team

[AM]: Axemen, one of the oldest clans in KF, known for their love for the axe. Goddamn they love their axe. Hence their name.

Axe: A melee weapon with slow rate of attack, but stronger than knife or machete. Also cheaper than chainsaw or katana.

AK-47: A commando-oriented weapon with ironsights. More powerful than the bullpup.

B)
Bloat: This is the fatman specimen you see limping around. While he wields a rather nasty butcher's knife, the real pain comes from his puke. If he pukes over you, you take quite some damage over time.

Bullpup: The L85a2. It is the only assault rifle in the Mod. Has a scope.

Berzerker: The melee member of the squad. Chainsaws, Katanas, Axes, knives, Anything that cuts is theirs! Cannot be grabbed by clots.

Biotics Lab: Shipped with the retail version of the game. It is based on a specimen testing lab and all indoors. This leads to narrow hallways and being pinned in. Most people hold the u-shaped room.

C)
Chainsaw: Not included in the game until an update, one of the stronger, but expensive melee weapons.

Clot: Your average clo(w)ne. Slow, weak, and stupid. Can be dangerous in large quantities, especially if they get a hold on you. Really anything works on them, although using melee is recommended to save ammunition.

Compound Crossbow: A very powerful crossbow. Arrows fly in a straight arc, and can penetrate multiple enemies. You can re-use arrows by picking them up.

Crawler: These little critters jump everywhere. they have rather low health, but are very hard to hit. Best to take them out with dualies or a bullpup. Roasting them also works well. Always look down!

Commando: Uses machine guns and has the ability to see health of specimens. Can also spot cloaked specimens. If they're shooting at what seems to be thin air, TRUST them!

D)
Dotman: See Marco

Dualies: Dual 9mm. Double the damage, double the speed.

Deagle/Desert Eagle: See Handcannon

Deployable turret: A .50cal deployable turret. It was never really introduced in the mod, although the skin and the model and the code to make it work were there. However due to the way KF was coded, as soon as you left the turret, you died. Not included in retail version.

DRF: Disaster Response Force. They were the first to hit the streets during the outbreak. Because of their bravery many survived. They were however woefully outnumbered.

Demolitions: The newest Killing Floor class. The specialize in explosives and are good against groups of specimens. (They can also hold a LARGE amount of grenades and pipebombs)

E)
N/A

F)
Flamethrower: The flamethrower. This weapon is not for Rambo's. While it does some initial damage as you hit the specimen, most damage is dealt over time. Thus you have to burn the little critters, then run like hell. Rinse and repeat. however, might you get trapped, you need buddies to save you, since you can't output a lot of damage in a short amount of time, like the shotgun.

Fleshpound (commenly abbreviated FP): Don't get up close with this fella. He's rather tall, strong, and has some very strong arms. No, he is not a pro-wrestler. Nor a model. He likes to crush things. Human things.

Firebug: Plays with fire, need I say anything else? They specialize in Flamethrowers, and can ignite specimens with their grenades.

Farm: The easiest retail map, or so people claim. It is based on a farm and is mostly outdoors. Husks can be notoriously annoying on this level.

Fleshpounder: Like the scarke, a running joke in the Killing Floor community. A fleshpound with a Big Mac for a body. "You don't pound the pounder, he pounds you!"

Field Medic: As his name states, this class is the medic who can run like the wind, has crazy strong armor, and heals massive amounts of health on later lvls.

G)
Gorefast: One of the specimens chasing you. This one speeds up if it can smell your fear.

Grenades: Pretty obvious. Pull the pin and throw them in situations where they take out 5 or more specimens. Or when you are about to be overwhelmed and want to take as many of 'dem bastards with you as you can.

H)
Handcannon: Its a rather large pistol. It shoots .50cal slugs. Deadly up close, but at a distance a tad to innaccurate. Can go Dual HC's in the retail version.

Hive: The hive. Its an awesome map created by kick3r. You can play the movie the way it should be. With you in the
leading role. Its an EXACT replica of The Hive in the movie.

HTR (Hold The Roof): Common abbrevation on the map office, where the main tactic to survive is to all gather at the roof, weld all doors, prepare for the enemy and give it your all.

Hunting Shotgun (commonly abbreviated to HS): The most devestating weapon in any soldiers arsenal. When all slugs hit, Anything but the Scrake and Fleshpound is obliterated in one shot.

K)
Knife: The lightest weapon in the game, which allows you to run quickly. When paired with the berserker perk or medic perk, you gain quite an impressive speed boost.

Katana: A light, long, melee weapon. One of the more powerful melee weapons in the game, but also costly.

Karma: Moveable objects. interaction between players and objects in the map. karma is no longer used in KF because it allows players to push tables and such so they can exploit.

L)
The L.A.W. : Think of a big bazooka. Now think bigger. That is the L.A.W. Warning: Do NOT fire when friendlies are bound to walk through your line of fire. Seriously, don't. They won't die. You will. The L.A.W. in retail is DIFFERENT from the Mod as it is weakened.

M)
Machine Pistol: Another hidden weapon in the MOD. While it looks just like the normal pistol, it actually fires rather fast. Again it is not buyable and only hidden in some of the maps. Not included in the retail version.

Marco: When 2.5 was in trouble due to coding issues, Marco turned up and fixed a lot of the code, making it possible for Alex to release 2.5 and focus even more on the graphics and artwork. Also the creater of the Doom Mutator for the retail version.

M14 EBR: A semi-automatic battle rifle that is one of the more powerful sharpshooter weapons in the game.

Mutator: A modification to the game that can be turned on or off from the mutators tab in the map selection screen.
Mutators are used to change the gameplay, specimen types you face, and more.

Manor: Another map that shipped with the retail version. It consists a a manor, with the grounds and a "shack". People often hold the tunnels.

Money, Money, Money: In this game money makes the world go round. It allows the purchasing of body armor and bigger, better weapons. It can be obtained by, finishing a round, healing teammates, Killing Specimens and recieving it from teammates. Use the "b" key to chuck money by default. Remeber, sharing with teammates is a good thing...

N)
N/A

O)
Offices: On of the original retail maps. It is based on an office building and is composed of indoor and outdoor parts. The term HTR- hold the roof is commonly spoken on this level. Players have been known to leave small craters on this level much to their team-mates amusement.

P)
Patriarch: The boss in the new KF. Has a minigun/rocket launcher as one arm, and a rather powerful claw as another. Has the ability to heal and to cloak. Treat with care.

Perks: If you kill enough Specimen and reach certain achievements, you can choose upgrades to strengthen yourself in the Mod version, or you can recieve weapons and damage bonuses in the retail version. All for killing more Specimen!

Pipe: A lead pipe. Its damage and speed are inbetween the knife and the axe. Good for blunt force trauma and sewage. It originated in the mod and is included in some mutators for the retail version.

PWD: Another clan in KF. At first, they behaved like douches. However, they turned around to be decent. Not really, really friendly, but you could talk and have fun with most of them.

Q)
N/A

R)
Robot: A rather famous KF player. He put together a few mappacks, making it possible to download 60+ maps at one time @ full speed, instead of downloading them one by one through a servers ****ty 20kbps. He also has a rather huge KF playtime.

S)
SEALs place and SEAL: A server some retard started. He thought, and said on the forums, he single-handedly revived the community with his server and that we owed him so much for that. Also stole artwork from Alex.

Siren: This little strapped up lady screams 'till your head explodes. Literally. Up really, really close she has a rather weak bite.

Shotgun (Commonly called the shotty): Your average shotgun. Get close. Aim. Fire. Fire again. Reload.

Stalker: This lady can cloak herself. You can only see her briefly when she attacks. Or when she is dead. You probably want to see the latter. Watch out for her melee attack. Her combo hurts quite a bit. The commando is particularly useful against this specimen.

SCARMK17 (SCAR): An assult rifle that has a smaller clip, but does more damage. Has the semi-automatic or automaic abilities. Expensive.

Sharpshooter: A single head-shot, and the big ones hit the ground hard. Sharpshooters use precision weapons and focus on getting headshots to maximize damage.

Scarke: A scrake + shark combination which has been a running joke for a little while now. "Who's Laughing NOW?!"

T)
Trader:At the end of each wave her shop opens to sell you guns and explosives. She also uses sexual innuedno like there's no tomorrow!

Trader's Shop:At the end of each wave, it opens it's door. At the beginning of each wave, it closes it's door.....what more? Noobs and arses often block the entry to the trader, which usually results in much argument.

TheBlackCheetah : A very well known modder. Some people have begun to call him the "Mod-god" as he seems to never stop releasing fun mutators. Some of his mutators are specimenation, killingstrike, and Ai bots.

U)
Unreal Engine: The engine used for the game. Also used in the SDK.

V)
N/A

W)
Winchester (Commonly called the win, or the winch): The only rifle in the Mod. This is a weapon you want to use from behind your buddies. Capable of scoring constant headshots, if you take enough time. Similar weapon known as Lever-action rifle in the retail version.

West London: One of the retail maps. It is based on..... West London. It is mainly outdoors and is one of the easier maps to navigate.

Wyre: A retail map released in the second map update. It is based in a forest. So far, it is the toughest map to beat on suicidal. Most people hold the top of the abandoned military base.

X)
Xbow: See Compound Crossbow

XPC (Xtreme Pest Control): The FIRST killing Floor clan......ever. (Or so I've heard)

Y)
Yoshiro: Used to(?) be a part of the Tripwire team and is everybody's go to guy. Seriously. If you find a glitch on any tripwire map, let him know!

Z)
ZB (Also known as ZEE BEE): Stands for Zombie Butcher. A notorious troll on the "old" KF forums. You could not get a single, on-topic, normal statement from him. He demanded an eyepatch skin for the Lewis soldier.

ZED: Zombie Extermination Division. They are another, long running clan. They are a more casual clan in KF. Unlike [AM], who also aim to play uber serious sometimes, ZED is a rather casual, laid-back clan. They can be serious at times though.

zYnthetic: Did the music for the mod, also helped compose the majority of the music for the retail version.

Thank you for reading, I hope this was helpful!

it would be good to mention that the map Offices was voted by the mod community. Alex held a poll, asking which kind of map should be made next. the choices were:

Abandoned Industrial Yard (3 votes, 17.6%)
Derelict 747 Airplane (1 vote, 5.8%)
Office Building (9 votes, 52.9%)
Apartment Complex (4 votes, 23.5%)

the office building won the poll as you can see :p

just in case zynthetic says im making it up again:
