Killing Floor crashes after splash screen

i have been playing this game without issue (relatively speaking ) for a few months, and today it has decided it would refuse to open up after loading the splash screen.

i have uninstalled 5+ times and reinstalled, validated and defragged the steam caches, uninstalled steam, deleted all files in steamapps, and still nothing seems to fix this

i am running a late 2009 15" macbook pro using leopard 10.5.8

I get this also. The problem exists because the game is set to launch at a higher resolution than natively supported. I have an external monitor obviously much bigger than the built in display. Gaming on it is fun, but it disallows the game to launch when this display is not present.

Oh, bad!
