I really don't want to defend rex and this is in no way in defense of him or his negative opinions but that statement is pretty untrue I find. Someone illegally downloading the game doesn't mean that trip has lost a sale at all, since a pirate usually either doesn't have the money or has never had the intention of buying the game in the first place.
Here's the thing BlackSpawn. You start off with this nonchalant neutral tone casually suggesting you are curious what the community thinks about MT's. But we both know what your comments will degrade to. Something like this
And this is where my frustration lies. Because it's one thing to have a different opinion. However, when you suggest it's someone's low intelligence that dictates that difference of opinion it becomes offensive, insulting and childish. This is why I am not particularly thrilled to see you waging this war on the forums.

The good thing about these forums is that if enough people report him, he'll get RO'd (which from Rex's new user title, looks like he'll be gone a while thankfully) or banned. Just keep reporting his posts if he's getting too disruptive and he'll be gone.
Alright, I think we've beaten OP over the head enough. Not that it did anything; from reading the thread I have an inkling he was aware of what he was doing, but went through with it anyway.
We all learned a valuable lesson today: presentation matters. I haven't looked at the poll (don't need to from the looks of things), but it seems to me it revolves around MTs exclusively. A more descriptive title such as "Poll over KF2 MTs" would have avoided this entirely.

I don't think players that fail consider these issues are necessarily unintelligent; I believe we are conditioned not to do so.
But that is not the subject of this thread.
I just want to see how the community stacks up on these matters.
There is nothing wrong with the poll or its presentation.
I've received "Thanks" from several individuals for making them think about several of the points raised in the questions.
Its all relative, I guess.

If you find a dissenting opinion "disruptive" and feel the need to report me, go ahead.

Then I as an active TWI member who browses the forums everyday ask you, do not bring your petty rants here. The Steam forums are chalk full of these 'discussions' on micro transactions on how they are 'bad' and un-immersive blah blah blah. Keep it out of here.

The quoted text from the steam forum discussion implies a degree of contempt for a large section of the community that plays KF2. You're stopping just short of directly saying that the gaming community is essentially binary, consisting of:
- one group of players that's honourable, decent, willing to stand up and call evil out wherever it rears its ugly head; and
- another group of players, either wilfully ignorant of the so-called scourge of monetizing every aspect of the gaming industry, or too stupid to see that the first group is inherently right, justifying the seeming need to continue the crusade
In effect, you're saying "you stupid people need us, because you don't have the intelligence or the willpower to make decisions for yourselves". Now, think about this for a moment. Out of you and TWI, which has the greater contempt for the gaming community?
I'm going out on a limb and suggesting the former, vastly moreso than the latter.

That post was taken out of context, and stemmed from a discussion with a particular individual, I was simply explaining the concept in binary terms for his benefit.

The statement can't be taken out of context in the way you describe, because you say, and I quote:

As long as you're willing to accept that your binary explanation was out of line, and not indicative of the gaming community, I'm satisfied.
I haven't read most of this second page, only Rex's post and some of the immediate answers to it.
I have given up on this game as well and pretty much abandoned this forum too, just checking in every couple of days.. Nothing interesting happens anymore, the game release hype is long gone, development is slow, the flavor of the game is now tainted with the stench of Steam market. I tried to max this game out collecting every bit of content, I went after the Dosh jacket with tooth and nail, but now I've been flipped off. I'm just casually lingering about waiting for the Sharpshooter, but no hype at all. I have no interest in KF2 anymore, so yeah, I could be banned from this forum for all I care. In fact, please terminate or suspend my TWI forums account, since I have no more business here apart from getting frustrated all the time. Every time I see KF2 in my Steam library, I get reminded how I loved this game and what has become of that, and the only thing I can possibly do about that is venting that frustration here. That's not good for anyone so please, mods.

Or you can stop visiting the website? I've stayed active on the forums (reading) while I was suspended and you're one of the few who seems to just now post in a negative aspect.

No I'm not that kind of guy. I will keep coming back as long as I can, cause I don't have much else to do. I'm currently looking for a job and learning stuff by myself at home. And as I said, coming here to complain is the only thing I can do when this game comes to my mind.
I'm pretty sure it's not very hard for a mod to perma ban my account.
I think TWI should be making polls of this nature. It is the essence of Early Access to get feedback, and polling is an excellent way to get feedback.
The questions can be answered in yes, no, other and have a spot for opinions.
Just because someone has a different opinion does not mean they should not be heard. Make your voice heard, take the poll. Make a poll of your own. Better yet, send an e-mail to TWI asking them if they would start polling the community.
