Interesting and concerning. I was thinking about buying an ultimate gaming rig for KF2 so I could crank everything up particularly the amount of bodies on screen, not gonna do that if my rig could overheat

Don't worry if you buy a card that's GTX 700 series or more you can get it to throttle after it reaches a temperature of your choice so it won't pass that temperature ever. But i don't see why no one from TW is commenting on this this is a serious problem that can negatively affect our hardware...

To any one that's having issues, Have you ever benchmark your card for heat using furmark or future mark? Even a card running at 100% should not overheat.

-Edit if you dont know how to use furmark, dont install it.

Like i said Man it's a Game problem I've ran much heavier games at max settings with the card clocking at 100% and my temp wouldn't go over 70

I just did a test, and my card max out at about 63 degree celsius, with a max power consumption of 69%, and fans maxing out at 32%, though mostly running at 0%, slowly ramping up to bring the temp down, and settle back at 0% again.

I'm playing with 1680x1050, graphics on high and 4xAF - running at 60-62 FPS.

To players who experience overheating trouble, how do your graphics card perform in other Unreal 3 engine games?

I have seen weirder hardware problems than this, so i wouldn't be prepared to call it a game problem. Especially because i don't know anyone who is experiencing this, and i build most of their machines and installed them. To sum up: everyone i know couldn't possible have a hardware or driver issue, and they are running the game perfectly :)

As other have suggested, try benchmarking, and try benchmarking on an
Unreal 3 engine game, and compare the results. Try searching the internet to check if other people have issues with the
Unreal 3 engine, perhaps there are some fixes for it out there. It could be an issue between the engine and certain system configurations.

So even if it could be a killing floor 2 problem, tripwire dosn't seem too active on the bugs forum, so i would consider trying out other options while you cross your fingers, and hope that it is a game problem, and that tripwire is fixing it.

It could be as simple as you need to clean your heat sinks. Hard to tell from the screen you posted if your fan speed is accurate or on some other auto setting but it looks like its set to 50%-80%, could be part of the problem if its really that low. I would set it to 100% and see what happens.

Like i said on the start of the post, I've tested tons of games that are heavier then Killing Floor 2 and my temps where never higher then 70

It does have a frame cap and i forgot to say but yes i've tested other Unreal Engine 3 games and it'e never over heats.
