Thanks for the quick explanation Yoshiro!

And to everyone else, thank you all for supporting the map but I knew from the get-go that Bikini Atoll was not in the running. Actually, the TWI staff was super considerate and even contacted me directly to help with intellectual property legality. But, I mean it's a map. Not really worth a lawsuit.

I do hope to see some future competitions though! Grindhouse drove some seriously outstanding projects over the past few months.

What I find strange is how is it even possible that there's a discrepancy here?

To my knowledge nobody on the team said that. When I was questioned last night I answered that I wasn't on the judging team and did not know all the answers. I got them and replied today.

Yoshiro, is it possible to remove all non whitelist maps for KF2?
There is a map called "perktraining" that destroys the game. There are people boosting themselves to level 25 and makes the game for others on HoE "difficult".

I'm not really sure that's a fix unfortunately mate... Some of my level 25s are boosted that way and no-one's ever wanted to shaft me from a HoE game, but there are also plenty of players out there who levelled to 25 the hard way who still struggle on hard! I like having the option to switch to any perk needed to fill the gap as it were when I join a HoE game and I wasn't about to level every single class to 25 the hard way. And to be honest, even on HoE I'd rather have a level 10 gunslinger who can aim and understands the game mechanics on my team than a level 25 commando who puts half a clip into every gorefast and then has to waste grenades on trash and complain about ammo constantly ha ha :D

I'm sorry for the mistake and not have happened. A member of QA was confused about the subject and gave out incorrect information to you via Reddit.

For what it's worth, Nuked is one of the best custom maps I've played, and definitely deserves to be in the roster of official maps.

Personally, I think Nuked was every bit as good as Infernal Realm and Shopping Spree and definitely better than Dead Shore and Spaceport Perdition. (I have yet to play Power Core). I really hope Nuked gets included as an official map somewhere down the line.

Also, I don't understand why Groove Yard is listed as Non-Survival. I will admit to only having played it once on a 7 wave round but it played like standard survival mode as far as I could see. I guess there was a little narrative in the lobby to explain itself but I'd hardly paint that as a different game mode. Does something drastically different happen at wave 10? Anyhow, it's a great map and deserves recognition but I just didn't understand the classification.

All in all from what I've played so far these are some great maps. Congratulations to everyone involved even those that didn't win.

Bikini was disqualified due to content. Nuke placed well but was outside of those that placed and was just edged out.

Some maps from the contest are already in the pipeline to join the game as official content in the future. We did enjoy Nuked, and it and several other maps that did not place are potential candidates to be asked to join the official stock maps moving forward if the mappers are interested and keep updating their maps. We are keeping an eye out on all the maps that were entered.

I know personally that if this was the case for any of my entries it would be a huge boost for morale and motivation to actually know if my maps are being looked at and or were considered. I am sure other entries that are being looked at would appreciate a notification as well.

There is no map whitelist. Also it's not the boosting maps that ruin your games. It's players that don't know how to play that ruin your games. And someone can level up totally legit on hard, but when he stepps into your HoE game, he might still appear like fresh from levelling map. On the other hand, people that studied the game mechanics and have a good understanding of the game, could cheat their level and you would never notice when playing with them. Just accept the fact that the level is neither an indication for valuable experience nor skill.

Thanks Yoshiro and Shuu for clearing that up. I'm not even involved with the contest but the oddity of the situation compelled me to question it.
