My internal kneejerk reaction was "OMFG. DJ SKULLY AS PREORDER INCENTIVE" and then I shut up since it's a $30 game (still floored by that price for the amount of hours I'm gonna get out of this) and most KF1 characters were very cheap, practically always on sale DLC, anyway.

Suck it, Evolve.

I sort of did the same thing. I cringed when I saw the exclusive character, not because I object to it, but I assumed some baby was going to come out crying about it.

I'm really glad about the DDE.

A little confused why they're targeting duel core systems. I thought the we're developing with multiple threads in mind, two for the base engine, another two separate threads for features added to a clearly advanced engine. Although Ill admit I haven't kept track of what's modern and what's not and what not. Clearly though this game will run well at 1080p on PS4 and even Xbox if M$ decides that they can't let Sony have an exclusive FPS that's worth getting a next-gen console to play (nice try Titanfall and unEvolve)

Any news about the rating in Germany and if purchased versions will be uncensored or marked as German versions prior to buying?

As long as there is no retail or boxed version there won't be a rating from USK/BPJM. I expect to get the fully uncensored "ROW" version but will still buy it from the United States Steam shop through VPN to eliminate any remaining risks.

Can someone help me out? Will these specs do?

PC CPU: 1.6GHz Intel Core i5 4200U
PC Memory: 8GB DDR3 SDRAM 1600MHz
Graphics: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family

SystemLabs is not accurate at all. It just says it's not compatible to any of those games when I can run them just fine.

So, it looks like both the Minimum spec graphics cards only support DX10. Does this mean that'll be added to KF2, or was that just a rough spec equivalent (if so, they should probably be changed)?

Your CPU is somewhere between minimum and recommended spec (leaning more towards recommended) so you're doing fine there. Those integrated graphics, though? Not a chance. You're using a laptop right? Mine has that same processor (and integrated graphics) and it didn't even run KF1 decently unless I was playing on the lowest settings.

You probably already know the reputation Intel HD Graphics has, so easy to understand why I'd say you'd probably not run KF2 well on that system. The CPU really isn't powerful enough either, and you'd likely have serious sound issues during hectic moments.

Oh come on, please don't do this whole digital deluxe version!

I understand a deluxe version for physical should be rewarded, because it's usually more expensive and inconvenient for the customer, so it's nice to reward that extra effort they put in.

But when you do this digitally, it feels like you're just cutting content out of the game in order to sell it back at a higher price!

The specs are about what I expect it to be, but I will ask if the specs are future proofed, as I remember later line KF1 being very unstable, even on newer computers, probably due to bottle-necking.

What are you on?

They cut no content whatsoever...the things in there are merely cosmetics

WTF has world come to, that people complain about paid cosmetics...meanwhile 99% of F2P games AND even P2P ones are going with the P2W model, killing amazing games.

Cut cosmetics is still cut content.

What you're trying to say is it doesn't affect the game. Which I can agree on.

However there really is no reason to have content which is behind a paywall when you are buying a digital copy on Steam, it's just plain nickel and diming.

But this is cut content. It's not even like the excuse some devs use where the game went gold and they had nothing else to do. This is a fully and uniquely voiced new character (and some cosmetics) that have been created before the game has even been completely. Saying that it doesn't effect gameplay doesn't change that fact. If you want you can even compare it to pre-order DLC but that's still something worth complaining about. Comparing it against P2W games isn't quite right either. Two wrongs don't make a right. The ideal is no DLC at all, maybe just an expansion. Still, cosmetic stuff is better than something like weapons. It's unfortunate that we'll probably have DLC weapons down the road too.

On the other hand (in a more positive light), this might be why the game is only $30 standard. That would make more sense, and cutting out DJ Scully is a product of that. That's a very weird system, but looking at it from that angle makes me feel a lot better about it. Keep this in mind Spetsnaz.

Depends on which Intel graphics chip he has. E.g. Intel HD Graphics 6000 delivers very decent results. At least for OnChip graphics. Even better is Intel Iris graphics but very few devices only use it.
Of course dedicated graphics are always better when it comes to performance.

So if they had waited a couple months to release DJ Scully & the cosmetic items as DLC, you'd be okay with it, but since it's being released as part of a DDE at launch, that's the problem. We're not talking about a perk or a set of weapons or a map or a game mode. It's one character and some cosmetic items for a game that is literally half the price of games that do nickel & dime you for perks, weapons, maps, and game modes.

Most games have some kind of DDE at launch that is $20 more than the base game (bringing it to $80, twice the price of the KF2 DDE) and includes content that wasn't so much cut from the game as carved out of it while the game screamed & cried on the operating table.

That's not even to mention the modularity of KF2, meaning you could spend $30-40 and never have to spend another dime on the game for anything because whatever you want can just be modded into it.

A single character and some cosmetic items, with no effect on gameplay, and that's not even all the DDE includes. For $10. That no one is forcing you to spend. That TWI made separate from the base game so they could make more money. So that they could afford to keep making the game itself.

Man, what bastards.
