Most sensible comment I've read so far.

+1

I'm really excited for TWI right now. Expanding to the big audience outside of the PC gaming niche really shows how far TWI have gone as a development studio. I was already heavily expecting them to release on PS4 as well and I'm excited for the console gamers that will get to enjoy the game as well.

I really do hope that it has cross-platform play so I can play with my family members who only stick to consoles. Street Fighter V just made the announcement that it is exclusive to PC and PS4 and I couldn't be more hyped about that.

The way I see this is that releasing on PS4 will probably double their fanbase and source of income to help pay for their game development even further than ever before.

Once again, we will be making the best game we can for both platforms.

Which is kind of an oxymoron? I mean if you made the best game you could on PS4 it would be fully designed around that hardware and control input, which wouldn't be ideal for PC or vice versa. It's not that I don't trust TI, I've just never seen these multi-plat decisions go well while the game is still in development, especially for FPS games... just look at Crysis 2 :(.

Please outsource the porting or something, I don't want one second of developer's time being spent on considering what would be best for stick aiming - It'd be pretty terrible if enemies didn't dodge or move as fast as they were originally intended to.

It's not like it can't be done well, the porting just must be done afterwards.

If you do stay true to the game's design and difficulty then good luck to PS4 users. I doubt anyone is going to be able to play at the highest difficulty if KF1 is any indication of how tough it can get (I'm expecting KF2 to scale even harder!). Inb4 bad PS4 reviews because the game is too hard.

Ok, I have to ask.... what the heck is this weapon? The Explosion happens at the end of the gamplay footage and engulfs everything in fire
Spoiler!

Tripwire started their careers from modding for UT2k4. And nearly every game they've made so far was for PC. I'd be well and truly surprised if they suddenly decide "console is the way of the future"

Rockstar were developing for PC only back then too and look at them now. We are lucky if we get half assed port 1 year later after the console release.

That is a huge misinformation about Rockstar. They've had console versions of their games even back in their early days. GTA 1 and 2 were also on PS1 (2 also on Dreamcast) for example.

PC gamers sure are protective about their games... in a way of whiny old people.
It's not like there's only bad ports, only lots of bad ports. The good ones are those that are actually build alongside each other (like Diablo 3, and also Borderlands or Alan Wake which were all good imo) and I'm glad Tripwire is dedicating the extra resources to utilize two teams instead of one. As PS4 is having steam support, I think there will be no problems of KF maps being playable on PS4 as well, and with compatibility packs there should be no problems with regular DLCs, so I'm not seeing any problems with it as of now.

True. I'll give you that. But even as early as GTA 3, they were leaning towards consoles.

My point about Tripwire still stands because, unlike Rockstar, and outside of KF Calamity for ouya, they actually were PC only up until now. And them having been successful modders for a once popular PC game previously, should already back up the idea that the PC version will still be their top priority.

Well, my concerns depends of how I trust about Tripwire. Maybe can sound a little strange, but I was happy to buy Rising Storm instantly, before they fixed the price at day 1. More money for Tripwire as well. Yes, you can call me "fanboy", I don't care, Tripwire is the only software house I really love.

For me Killing Floor is just a "joy", a little entertainment, I'm worried mainly for Red Orchestra and future iterations.

Nope, you'll never convince me that Red Orchestra will be great even with a console version, as you trying to tell for KF2.

This is will be a proof for the future of the company. If the game will have success on console, I can see the next Red Orchestra 2 ready for crosshair and pad. Mother of god.

That is called "Action Mode", nothing new.

For those who are so sad and dissapointed because they will make their "first" ever console game:
If you can earn a lot of money by making something, why on earth wouldn't you port it to a console that has huge amount of players?

The problem is that a lot of multi-platform games, often affect the PC version negatively. Since they earn more money on console, they design the game around consoles, and then for the PC version they just slap a few features on it and call it a day.

I'm not saying that's whats gonna happen here, since TWI said both versions are being developed in parallel, and I suppose the early access will balance things out well for the PC, but the concerns are understandable looking at what has happened countless times in this industry.

As far as it comes to controls/controller support, as has been pointed out by others, those were in the plans for the Steam Machine/PC build as well.
It seems only a few reads what you are saying. Well, I hope they see that TW isn't Activision..

Yeah basically like TWI. TWI doesn't have 50 games. Thats their 4th game, isn't it? And they are leaning towards the consoles.

To be honest I prefer seeing KF2 as console exclusive (if the PC is not the leading platform) rather than multiplatform title.

You can't make the judgement that TWI are now leaning moree towards consoles, just because they announced a console version. In fact, its greatly contradicts your own point that Rockstar were more PC oriented even after PS1 versions of GTA 1 and 2 happened. You're not making any sense.

I'm surprised on how cold heart you guys are
tripwire are a bunch of gamers that love what they do and they do the better they can for us,after 3 games with so much quality some people still don't trust then?look,i really don't trust multiplatform games either, but it's tripwire we are talking about,it's their first time, give it a chance!!

then they come here and to say it's comming for ps4 and what they get?A PUNCH IN THE FACE by everyone!!

yoshiro even said that theres nothing to be upset about but you guys just ignore it and keep kicking the body in the ground that is called killing floor 2

call me fanboy,i don't give a pad,but it's tripwire,it's quality warrant

The trailer is awesome and epic, and it reveals a lot of juicy, tasty, arousing details.
The one thing I'm curious about though is if there will be also a dev diary (please say yes) or if this trailer will suffice as new media for december.

Once again, we will be making the best game we can for both platforms.

But logic tells us one of those platforms is lesser than the other.
If you are making the game "the best" for both platforms that means it will be at the maximum for the lesser platform.

Can you answer a question straight?

Will there be, or has there been any compromise made on part of the PC version to allow for a PS4 version?

If NO, great! make it work with an atari 2600 for all i care... But if YES....well i would like to know how that effects the game or what possible feature was dumped.

That means more money for RO3, so it's all good... :D
Dont get to excited, Porting to the PS4 will probably mean:
RO3: "Black ops delta squad 4 ghost team alpha" or "Black ops: secret weapons of WW2"

One more thing, No one mentioned the scrakes in the footage? all the PS4 has overshadowed it i think.

Im a little disappointed it was not saved as its own little feature:(

What happened you where "compiling security footage" Now it is shown as part of a PS4 port?

for me,this is not really good news

i have scared KF2 becomes a game without dedicated server and they use a system of Host / looby, his would be catastrophic, especially that no announcement has been made by TWI whether dedicated servers would be available and especially whether it is under on windows and linux

I hope also that the game has not been develloped in PS4 and the PC version is a similar porting to other poorly optimized PC game (example GTA4)

the worst would not be able to create content such as customs skins, mutators and maps, but apparently there will still be an SDK for maps

I'm really worried about this ad that challenges the strength value of KF1 because I want found also same on KF2

but I hope to be wrong in what I said
I especially wait official technical announcements (server, map, mutator, skins, weapons) from TWI about KF2
