Just finished a round of FF-Apartments and had quite an interesting experience with the "Kick Voting" option of RO2. I'm confused as to how this works, to be honest. Am I only allowed to kick players of the opposite team? I ask because this individual commandOR (steam profile here) was openly and blatantly teamkilling everybody in sight. Instead of complaining or calling names, I just wanted to vote kick him - yet his name did not show up in the list of names that I could call a vote to kick!?

Well, I stayed the entire round to see what kind of damage he would do: 36 team kills.

Not only that, but openly states he enjoys teamkilling with an "aimbot" six lines up.

So, when these people are openly teamkilling and griefing, and we're unable to even call a vote kick, what are we supposed to do? (Aside from leave, which is obviously what I did.)

From what I understand so far, whenever a player starts TKing on purpose or microphone spamming, his name disappear from the vote-kick menu making him immune.

Does it makes sense? Nope, just like anything else in RO2.

Even when someone actually manages to find the offending player's name on the list, I've yet to see a votekick succeed: just how many votes do you need for a successful votekick?

I'd be interested to see whether anyone here has ever witnessed a successful votekick.

It is a server option. For example, we've set a 30% requirement for kick vote. So if 30% of players vote to kick, it is successful. The server can also set the time a person is kicked for.

Some servers have the percent set too high to work, or do not have kick voting enabled as an option.

That being said, I've not actually seen it work to completion on any server, so cannot verify it actually works.

What he actually said is that he enjoys hipshooting an lmg " ... especially with the aimbot."

He's obviously lying though, because any fanboi will tell you that there aren't any hackers in RO2, you just suck, l2play, etc.

While obviously this feature should be fixed if it doesnt work, I'm always a bit wary of games/servers that make votekicking too easy. Too often I've seen a form of griefing where a guy every 20 minutes or so decides to randomly pick a new "target" for kicking and creates votes until he finally succeeds in kicking said person. (it's amazing how many people will automatically vote yes to any vote kick vote)

You've got a point, but if the vote message states the reason for the vote AND requires a majority vote, I'd think it'd be fair while still in all likelihood resulting in very few actual kicks on a server with over 30 players on it.

I don't even think the F4 for yes / F5 for no keys even work. It presents the option to go along with or reject the kick vote, but unless you actually go into the voting menu and find the player yourself, your f4/f5 key vote doesn't appear to go through.

Which would make sense, considering that f4/f5 is the same combination to accept/refuse an order. What would happen if a leader issued an order during a kick vote? Would your key press acknowledge the order, or count as a yes to the kick vote? It just wasn't very well thought out.

Where was the Admin for the Server?

Find the contact details for the Server, grab their email address and send them all of the above you posted, including screenshots and other evidence..... they might have gotten away with doing this then.... but if the server has decent admins/moderators, they'll make sure their arse is banned from that server.

I know I'd ban em.

Even if they were joking and never used an aimbot, bragging as if you do use one is just as bad and not worth time.... it's an open admission to guit and I'd ban their arse without blinking an eye.

And even if that wasn't an option for whatever reason, their excessive team killing noted in your image would be enough justification to boot him.

Anybody remember Trip talking about people like him being restricted to "remedial severs" to play with the rest of the trolls and cheaters?

Whatever happened to that?

Maybe it's time for server admins to bump up their honor restrictions a bit more.

The kick vote doesn't work like that. Each player presses ESC and makes their own vote. No option appears for everyone to vote for the same name that was previously voted for. This is why it is so hard to get a kick vote to work, because you need a LOT of players to go through the steps independently.

With practically everyone glitched to an honour level of between 75 and 100, this isn't really going to work at the moment.

As far as I can see, you only get -2 for a TK anyway: go and resupply an MG, and you can 'neutralise' 2.5 TKs.
