Map is whitelisted

KFO-Foundry is fully compatible with vanilla objective game mode, but for the best experience I'm recommending to play it with ScrN Balance and choose Objective Mode [ScrN] game type (ScrnBalance.ScrnStoryGameInfo).

Features:
  • Sticking to the roots of the original mod: 100% horror adventure, 0% Steampunk* and other bull****
    * TBH 1%, because The Janitor can't make maps without putting dancing husks on them
  • Proper game balance:
    • Allows the map to be challenging and interesting to play for solo and up to 12 players.
    • Super Hardcore. Even "Hard" [difficulty] is hard. HoE is almost impossible.
    • Requires 100% coordinated teamwork. You need to use the benefits of the perk variety, when everybody is sticking to the role designed for a chosen perk. Only then you will have a tiny chance to survive.
  • Variety of different objectives:
    • Exploring the map;
    • Repairing (welding) objectives;
    • Finding and bringing objects;
    • Escorting / defending NPCs;
    • Holding / Defending areas;
    • Pushing through zed crowds.
  • Optional Side missions / Non-linear gameplay. Completing (or failing) optional missions reflects on further mission or even different game ending.
  • Custom NPCs. They are not only going from point A to B, but also are fighting zeds, ripping on each other and even punching in the face.
  • A lot of custom dialogues, including references to the original KF story.
  • Secret weapons, areas and missions - explore the map carefully!
  • And of course some Easter eggs ;)

I need servers, there are barly any obective severs and most of the time only run both TWI's map and KFO-OUATIM

not sure how your Connection will be but you can try these:

[DE] scrn2.no-ip.org:7707
[DE] scrn2.no-ip.org:7709

both running scrn objective hard, suicidal and HoE. I also can set normal difficulty for some time if requested.

I add them and they just give me Unknown Server.

Sadly the only server i know that has this map running (well one named KFO-FOUNDRY-SE-RC5 that has mismatch versions of both script files that were most likely ripped from long ago), i was kicked because some lvl5 support found the first part too hard and left...only to rejoin and immediately leave to show up once more to kick me so he can play on one of those horribly boring and broken survival maps. :rolleyes:

This map looks awesome! I just have two questions.

Will merely having this map on my server (because it's not whitelisted) disable Steam achievements when playing other maps?

KFO-Foundry is fully compatible with vanilla objective game mode, but for the best experience I'm recommending to play it with ScrN Balance and choose Objective Mode [ScrN] game type (ScrnBalance.ScrnStoryGameInfo).

What exactly is the difference? What changes?

Thanks, I'm just confused and curious!

Steam stats and achievements will be working fine on other maps. KFO-Foundry-SE uses ScrnStoryGame.u, which is not whitelisted. That's why perk progress is disabled why playing this map. Switching to another map restores perk progress.

Biggest change is zed behavior. In ScrnStoryGameInfo zeds are not blindly attacking generator, NPC or breaker boxes, ignoring players.

Other significant change is weapon balance. You can fill it especially during the first mission (starting generator). Secret weapons (M4-203, Combat Shotgun and Chainsaw) suck in vanilla. LAW is underpowered while used off-perk (e.g. Shotgun+LAW as support) and M4 is too weak.

In summary, fueling mission is harder in vanilla due to lack of good weaponry, but other missions are much easier due to dumb zeds.
