The map is ready for beta testing...I have not put all the finishing touches in it yet (Sound, trash, bling) and the lighting always needs a little something something.:)

So maybe this week...I will look for a host server or crank up my old commodore 64 and load it on there.

I played it.

Descent map, obviously you aren't finished with it; but I'll still outline what I noticed.

  • Some of the trucks that have lights (headlights) didn't have all their lights on.
  • No sky?
  • Some of the lights don't have "lights" but it's still lit around them
  • There is this one part outside, near where it looks like the entrance to the loading dock. Its an invisible wall where zeds can come through. Maybe put some physical blockage there so it looks more realistic instead of just an invisible wall.

Those were the only points I noticed while I played 9 waves. I did jump up on stuff, but zeds still attacked me. The map is large though, with lots of open and escape paths.

Ok I know most of them, except the last one? I have the warehouse that has 2 open door ways. large ones side be side, they both have a zone there but player and zed both can come and go through.

I will watch out for your server and jump on there when I see it up. Thanks again.

I don't mean the doors. I mean the gates on the other side of the warehouse. Where the trucks drive in to the parking/loading dock area. Its an invisible wall, obviously so the player can't go out around the fenced in area. I think it would be better/add to the realism if some kind of barrier like some debris, or something was placed there to make it look like that's what's preventing the player, not just the invisible wall, but still allow the zeds to walk over it. IIRC, I think there was a security hut/station or something right next to it. Some kind of small building, on the outside part of the map. I only went over there once.

oh ok there at the guard shack. Yes i know that one.....just haven't figured out what would look "natural" there. Was thinking a barricade....fence pieces, boards, stuff.....not sure yet.

About the openness, to open ? need more trucks or trash barrels? and what about the lighting?

Yeah or some wrecked cars on the "street side" blocking the path would probably add to the feel that you're in a crisis situation.

As for how open the map is, that's fine. No complaints here; however I think your map would be awesome if it were in fact two separate maps. Inside the warehouse and outside the warehouse. Just my $.02. The map is plenty large enough.

Adding a second level or upper levels in the warehouse might make it seem more like a warehouse and less like a large building though.

One thing I particularly disliked was how everything looked the same. All the boxes in the warehouse looked identical. All the trucks looked identical, etc...

As far as the last part yes there is only one tractor and trailer model, so yea they all look the same. I am going to make a mesh "a sign" and try to make them a bit different. So yea I do have some more work.

I was thinking putting another trader on the other side of the parking lot. I really want to get in there and play with others to see how and where they go, I also need to do lots or details........all in good time.

Outside isn't that big a deal. Most places that have fleets of trucks all look the same anyway. More so inside, boxes and stuff dont always look identical ya know? Also I always made my way back outside when I played. Only time I went in the warehouse was for the trader.

Skillz,

I just added the truck and trailer to the map ( I think). Could you delete the old map and rename the TruckSM so it won't load up and once I post the new updated download, see if it has everything included.

Also FYI my ports are not open, as soon as everyone goes to sleep here tonight I am going to reset my router ( I forgot my password). I will then open my port so hopefully I can host the many updates I will have.

Do you have a download link?

Also am I renaming the TruckSM file just to make sure the map doesn't want to load it anymore? I'm assuming that's what you mean when you say you've added the truck and trailer to the "MyLevel" part of the map, so it shouldn't be required anymore.

The single box/double box near the tables/chairs will cause some of the zeds to glitch and wander about leaving them easy to dispatch, only the siren and husk will still hit you, nothing else.
