Looks good. The concepy however, woo woo, religion is coming true, is a little silly.

Authors choice in my opinion and if the realisation looks great, why not.

Well, I would use a more saturated and darker overall lighting in order to better fit the sky. Maybe even some add really dark spots with red glowing light coming from those meteorites on the ground.
The riders look a bit odd to me, looking a bit like toys. Are they moving by the way? If not, then I would just get rid of them.
All in all a good work, but you could improve on the mood the map creates while playing.
