Let's make things clear.
Why I started this tournament?
I made a decision to stop modding KF1. So this is my final contribution to KF community. Get ScrN-fans together and have fun of playing their favorite game - that's a purpose of this tournament. This is the first and final tournament hosted by ScrN community.
Why TSC? Why ScrnBalance?
KFG is already hosting vanilla tournaments. I see no reason to make another copy of the same thing.
TSC is based on ScrnBalance and can't be used without it. Besides, why would I give such a great prize for those who dislike my work?..
KF2 is not released yet.
That's the point. Complete the tournament, turn the page and wait for KF2. It would be worse if KF2 will be released during the tournament, when participants must wait for games being finished while others already can switch to KF2.
Refereeing.
All games will have referees, who'll be spectating and recording or streaming gameplay videos. TSC Simulation games won't be streamed, because it could give unfair advantage for the team who is playing second. But those videos will be uploaded on YouTube later.
Live Commentaries.
This is one of the best things KFG did in their tournaments. But unfortunately none of us are native English speakers, and having bad commentaries is worse than having none imo. We'll try to find commentators for playoff games, but no promises.
Prohibition of custom weapons and weapon skins.
Custom weapons are prohibited because not all players are familiar with them and that could give an unfair advantage to those who have experience with those weapons.
"Skinned" weapons are prohibited because balance job hasn't made for them. Most of them are useless garbage, but some are overpowered. Like Handcanon weighting only 2 blocks and Katana having radial attack.
Deposit Sum
I'd really want to avoid this, but unfortunately removing this will end really bad:
- Guys, do you want KF2?
- Sure we do.
- Then let's sign up for the tournament.
...
- Guys, we need to play a tournament game!
- Nah, I'm not in the mood today.
- "Player is currently offline, they will receive your message the next time they log in"
- I can't right now, I'm playing Dota!
^ That would happen with most teams. I'd rather get only 8 teams, which are ready to play, than getting all 16, where 10+ of them don't give a **** about the tournament.
Nobody will get disqualified for being late for 5-10 minutes. Most of us have family/work/school and other real life "distractions". And it is absolutely normal.
Deposit sum ensures that team plays all 3 scheduled matches during preliminary round. Not just loose first game and rage-quit the tournament.
