Beta Map KF-SurvivorCampBeta(WIP)

getting better already i see :), the idea of the map looks good :) i would recommend making terrain for the level tho :) also you can use the terrain to randomly put tree's and grass down for you as well tho i would highly recommend
not to for the grass..... really bogs down the system.. unless you ha it only put a littlebit here and there. also i would recommend haveing quite a bit of fog to help with lag, wich generally comes with most forest maps like wyre..
you'll have to start from scratch on ur pathnodes tho but thats super easy just takes a bit.

handy tuts to help you along:

Another good one i like->>>> http://wiki.beyondunreal.com/Legacy:Making_Architecture
my personal favorite Map Flow ->>>> http://wiki.beyondunreal.com/Legacy:Map_Flow

now obviously the last 2 don't exactly pertain to killing floor in general but they provide good tips on mapping :)

and Last but not Least Every level makers #1 goal should be Uber-spectacular-funamonium: this is my way of saying keep it fresh, fun, and clean(clean in the sense of everything works as it should) :)

its VERY early screenshots of his map. im sure KF-Hell looked just as boring when you barely started it.

That is true dex. And people let me know it needed more detail. All I'm doing is lighting some fire under someone's butt to do more.

Prodigy has two choices after someone leaves a message like mine.

1. Cry that someone was mean and give up or
2. Get mad and show me what kind of a kick *** map he can make

Personally I think he'll choose number 2

You said you've worked around 12 hours on this. As far as a map for killing floor goes that is really very little time. But you do have to start somewhere and learn from what you do. There are a few people on here that can bust out good maps at a rapid pace but that still is like 2-4 weeks a map, and that's probably about 10 hours a day give or take. At my peak i did about 2 months of at least 8 hours a day. So put that into perspective and don't be discouraged by your first maps. This stuff takes time just to figure out all the tools let alone building a realistic and fun environment. Good luck with your future projects.

Dont stop and start a new one.

Getting something finished is rewarding

I say its fun also to get stuck in, if you're feeling like this it may be because you didnt give full attention to building each part of the level and now you dont like it.

Its easy to go back over and add detail and redo textures and so on until you're pleased with the level.
