Here's a full run 10 waves where all tracks can be heard. I think I repeat one combat song and one trader song, Other than that all unique.

As far as the nightmare stuff here are my thoughts:

I want to trigger it so that at wave 5 textures on select structures and terrain layers change to "nightmare" versions. The reason for wave 5 is if people play a short game it would be 7 rounds up to 10 for long waves, this way whatever ppl play it will still work out.

I understand what you mean woodchuck about lowering the other world element if a nightmare system was implemented. I agree.

Nightmare could decrease lighting/change lighting colors. Lots of fun things. At the moment I cannot make the material changer operate correctly. I checked the materials first and they can in fact change, but the material trigger isn't working. I even did a simnple use trigger for it before adding the more complex system to it to figure out what part was not working. The end product will be 5 relay triggers with trader door names. As each wave passes a trader door gets sent a tick and in turn the trigger relays send a signal to the counter. After 5 ticks the counter should activate material trigger and thus "nightmare mode"

one little nag:
if u stand here no zed attaks from behind or from the side.
they only approach from the bridge.
so this position is very easy to hold.

Hey thanks for the feedback : )

I checked out that spot you mentioned (played on normal) and I did have zeds spawn from the side.

It's possible that all zeds had spawned while you headed to that spot so then nothing was left to spawn at sides. Or you played on beginner and few zeds spawned at all. Either way I'll keep it in mind and maybe bump up the side spawns a tiny bit if needed.

I agree about the fog. Prior to version 2-0 it used to be a little thicker, but 50% of players told me it was too thick. I lowered it for 2-0, I cannot see any point in reducing it anymore.

That's one of the things that can be tough to gauge as people have different monitors, graphic settings (lightness, gamma).

@Vegetasasuke0 I have put it in the whitelist submition page and hope for the best. One thing that might get tricky is all the cliffs. There are kill volumes in all of them and monster blockers to prevent zeds from wandering off and dying but, it can be tedious to make them all work perfectly. Thanks for the support.

anything i can look into when i'm not hearing music? when does it occur? i do hear the air siren, but no other sounds..odd?

edit: my music and sfx sliders are at least halfway high.

Download the music package and then unzip the tracks into your killingfloor/music folder

I've done that and compressed the sounds to uz2, but it still doesn't work. It does download the sounds to the client, too, righ?T

When you've "done that" stop doing things, namely compressing sounds to uz2 because that's what is causing it to not work.

Step 1. Unzip Silent hill music.rar into you steam/steam apps/common/killing floor/music folder

Step 2.Unzip KF-silenthillbeta2-0music.rar into your steam/steam apps/common/killing floor/maps folder

Step 3. Play Killing Floor

Step 4. Select KF-silenthillbeta2-0music

Step 5. Play

I have the OGG files in my music folder on my dedicated server box. What do I do with the music files on my redirect server? Do I upload them as .OGG there, too, or compressed as ogg.uz2?

I tried as .uz2 on my redirect and as .ogg on my dedi and it didn't work.

What if it's compiled within the map's .ROM file? If so, perhaps there could be a separate version for this? I hardly see the point in having a separate version for music if it has to be installed manually.

Thoughts?

My thoughts are: in page two of this thread you will see the entire conversation taking place about EXACTLY what you are talking about. It cannot be compiled into the .rom without being HUGE. And the point of making it was just for those that happen to want it.

I'm sorry it doesn't work the way you want it to and I'm sorry you have just regurgitated half this thread back on itself over the last few days when other maps should find their way to top posting for beta. Read what has been posted before you type things out, basically every question you've asked is answered in here already.

I received an E-mail from media fire saying they were contacted by a piracy company about content in the silenthill map and music pack. They were suspended. I have terminated them now. Kinda funny how someone could freely listen to all these tracks online while playing KF, but, if KF has the music in it that's a no no. I'm not saying I'm surprised, it's just one of the modern day's silly ironies. I should have just gone with my initial instinct about this and not added the music.

It's sad that the people that care about piracy are people that probably don't care about the game at all. The SH fans that buy the products and support the company are the only ones getting hurt here, nobody else. :(

Welcome to Germany ;)
It feels like the GEMA blocks about 40% of all the music videos on YouTube in Germany (unless you are using a proxy).
I was even unable to see the video you posted.

I think the problem is not to play the songs but to duplicate them.
Maybe there is any way to link to the file on the internet?!

Sorry to hear about the copyright. Is there a download up that doesn't have the music? Would love to try this map.
