Its a weird one, as if I just place one in a map and let him hit me, now and again he will actually punch me so hard that I fly across the map but I think it only happens with a certain punch, as the rest do not seem to land.

However the ones we have in the mut do not hit at all, not even with this lucky punch.
Have a go and try it, just place one in a test map and let him try and hit you.

I think this is due to the missing bones in the arms, as if yu compare the skeletons of that and the FP, you will see how far the FP bones extend, plus without these bones, I don't think the anims are registering correctly, as it is just a mesh, which doesn't have collision.

I have got him punching now though, by adding notifications in the animation browser, take a look at the clot for reference! you will see in the melee anims, there are notifications to call the script 'ClawMeleeDamage'

This allows him to punch with every attack.

Should be on Steam soon, so we can go through it.

I set the "throw" to far, but we are working on it, this guy will not kill, just throw u about messing up your group forcing u to move about and spend ammo

There will be chances for him to throw you into zed's based on your direction, and when you move around to avoid him or to head shot him in the back of the head that will form spaces for clots to walk into your groups barracade

His boxing stance will only allow you to get a clear head shot from the sides or back

Best way to get the brute to reveal the back of his head is to send a berserker to get his attention and to turn the brute around so his back is fcing the group, cool huh?

Thanks brain dead, been working with yomommasis on teamspeak and we found the issue you discuss, this is going to be awesome for all waiting for this additional creature

We need to start on animations soon, yommomasis is working on the shaders for the texture, ill be working on the balance and behaviour, hemi the animations and final skin mods and mesh tweaks, and I think braindead is also looking at the way of making a mutator to add him to exisiting waves :)

I want to make it so the berserker is not effected by the throw

I made a combiner for the brute, only took a few minutes, based it on the way all the other specimens combiners are set

The thing is though is the texture provided is too bright

Haven't been able to work on it much after that, I can send you my work if you'd like and maybe explain how I created the combiner for future reference

yeah weve been working on it. I got some custom animations done. Packed them in a PSA, and its ready to roll. Ill work on the texture making it more darker.

The animations Ive made are sothat he covers his head when walking back and towards you. The new texture has metal plates with torn away flesh on it. I hope we get this baby online before the weekend, no promisses though. We might hit a few bumps.

also added the notifiers. so he should be throwing properly and doing the correct damage

Ive got many variants of the skin Yomommasis - if you would like to combine a shader for them? just send me an email and ill get them over to you

wooohooo, its working! And the animations look great! New to do list :

- Implement Code to spawn with other specimens
- Insert new skin incl bump/normal map (allready made)
- Make sounds for The Brute (halfway through...sounds great!)
- Static meshes for the arms/legs/head
- Increase Damage of the Brutal Slam
- Whitelist this baby!

He has 2 attacks. 1 is just punching you, the other he runs at you and does a Brute Slam were he slams the player a few meters away from the spot he first was...knocking him away from the group or towards specimens or even....out the damn window!

Release date : Hopefully this weekend! At least the testing part.

It makes the gameplay a tad harder...and the model looks fantastic ingame.

shall i code it so the berserker isnt effected by the throw?

I have a feeling we need to move to a different forum now, since its gonna be released soon as a full-scale mutator with new specimen and has little to do with 3d and animation. But ill let somebody else decide that. :)

Btw getting punched in the face with a brutal slam on the roof of offices and landing on the spikey fence below were you start looks very...violent lol.
