All joking aside, am I the only one having issues getting this map to work?
There are some missing files called 'lol' which are not found and the map won't run without them.
We need you to add the 'lol' connections or remove them please orange451 before we can test your map.
I'm posting a screenie as I doubt anyone would believe it otherwise.
Update
I retextured a few things to bypass the error so I could playtest.
A few things for future builds.
1) You can add that static mesh to the map itself without needing a separate file for it. Simply save to myLevel and it'll create that package within the map file.
2) Add pathnodes absolutely everywhere in the playable area and not just from where the bots spawn from. This is their playground as much as it is for the players so provide the things they need.
3) Add some more lakes and traders in the playable area. This will allow for more random spawning and ensure you don't have to wait for the secondary bots coming from the perimeter.
4) Lose the collision on the low lying vegetation as it becomes an obstacle course and may create sticking points.
Regardless of your current mapping skills, you've developed a unique gaming concept. I've played a lot of maps which focus on beautification and architecture that really don't play well because the bots seemed to be an afterthought rather than central to the design.
In this map, you've designed around the bots with the lake being both an important visual part of the map and also essential for the bots to spawn from. With KF and any future mapping you do, please HOLD that thought as ultimately, once the eye candy novelty wears off, the gameplay is what will keep your map popular on the servers.
Watching the bloat coming out of the water is most amusing as it really highlights his waddling gait.
