KF "Incendiary" Content and "PostMortem" Character Packs released

I'm a bit surprised to see SCAR damage reduced - as it's so expensive. If it still costs that much, it's as useless as AK47 that no one uses. Commando perk isn't even that widely used because assault rifles aren't that good...

Good update still, thanks! Nice to see Mountain Pass made better and made official. :)

As lvl 6 commando, SCAR is not so expensive (~750). Despite the fact that i like playing commando most, i do believe that SCAR nerf was kinda needed.

Cuz it's badass weapon. And way better that m14 (no offence)

SCAR > M14

overall, i don't really think any of the changes ultimately makes the game worse that it was before the update.

Yes, absolutely game is better now.
-------------------

New maps are totally new for me, lucky me. I really enjoy em.

I have some kind of feeling, that there might be an update still coming before this year christmas..

But very good, Incendiary update is much more than i expected. This really surprised me.

Thx for another Update TW.
But i must say, i am a little disappointed. After all this time only so small changes. I definitely expected a much bigger update.

- Two of the "new" Maps aren't really new but very fun to play, and the remaining two are just "ok" imho.
I cant stand maps without Music so i wont play the mountain map very often.

- No new achievements o_O
I thought there would finally be Achievements for the last map pack (departed ect).

- I still cant play KF in German on OSX. Maybe this will never be fixed :(

So, nice little update but not enough to make me play this game for hundreds of hours again. Not without new Map achievements.

The Character Pack though, is once again very nice. I purchased it at once.

I guess you guys are glossing over the fact there are four new maps included in this update as well.

I've enjoyed the update so far. New maps are sweet, the ones I tried at least. Nothing seems terribly broken outside of a few issues here and there. Good stuff TWI.

The four "new" maps have been available from the community, and whitelisted, for months, and sadly I was already bored with them before they came out. I did not see hardly anything changed, except Biohazard which is completely reskinned and redesigned. The other 3 are more or less EXACTLY like the community versions (a car there, a body here... cosmetic changes).

The Flamethrower isn't needed anymore because of the Mac10 -.-
The chainsaw is still too weak and why is the scar weaker? There are so little bullets with even less power then before... poor change.

Still many things to change:rolleyes:

You still have to use the flamethrower to level up the Firebug perk. The Mac-10's also got rather high recoil. Seems like it'll be used mainly against Husks than anything else.

I agree with you on the Chainsaw though. :[

The Flamethrower isn't needed anymore because of the Mac10 -.-

The MAC-10 is indeed a suitable primary option for the Firebug that has plenty of advantages, but the Flamethrower still has its place, despite what I originally thought.

While the MAC-10 can quickly ignite a lot of stuff when you -strafe- a crowd, and it will bust down a single hard-target on full-auto, it's not as effective as the Flamethrower in mass ZED blob destruction.

The MAC-10 doesn't pierce, has no splash either for impact or ignition and its clip size, while numerically large, is easily burned through when you need something dead fast. The two weapons compliment each other's weaknesses quite well. (One great benefit that this presents is the ability to let that Flamethrower rip more often than before, without fear of running completely dry of damage once it's out.)

The chainsaw is still too weak and why is the scar weaker? There are so little bullets with even less power then before... poor change.

While I personally prefer the Katana, the Chainsaw should, in fact, be comparable as far as general effectiveness is concerned. That said, due to its inability to take advantage of the Berzerker's top-notch speed (one of its shining attributes) I personally believe its damage needs to be the highest, perhaps DPS-wise by comparison to the Katana, which would be better burst.

If you're going to be penalized for carrying a larger weapon and have your speed nerfed into the ground, you need adequate compensation, and since there's no frontal-defense mechanic to the Chainsaw, the most logical step to take is increasing the damage potential.

Of course.. they COULD just say screw it and give us a Greatsword with a really slow swing, but which does area damage to either everything surrounding you, or those within your sight up to a couple extra feet away

Edit: And call me crazy, but I'm REALLY thinking there needs to be a change made to the "miscellaneous" melee weapons: the Machete, Fire Axe and, to a much lesser extent, the Combat Knife. Price and weight reductions for the two former mentions, and perhaps an option to dual wield Combat Knives instead of carrying a 9mm.. I dunno, something unique.

In general this game has far too many unused/underappreciated weapons.
-Sharpshooter: Dual 9mm, Lever Action Rifle
-Commando: Bullpup
-Berzerker: Machete/Fire Axe (Chainsaw!)
-Medic: Medic Gun primary fire (the MP7 is NOT a low-impact weapon, it's a PDW capable of armor piercing)
-Demolitionist: M79, LAW (inability to even carry Pipe Bombs is a HUGE detriment to the class)
-(Support Specialist weapon balance is great, also Firebug with the new addition)

What I was saying is that this "content" patch is crap... Why make the commando even less powerful? It's hard enough as it is and the only thing needed to be done with the M14 was either weight heighten or a reduced amount of mags not both!

The Character patch is cool I wish I could buy it but no $... :(

I like how they finally made the LAW a demo weapon.
And the MAC 10 seems cool but, I have yet to be able to play it.
