V9 is out and ready for download!

This is a test build for the upcoming mapping contest, so if you see any bugs or areas that need polish please bring it to my attention and thank you for playing!

Changes in V9:

  • Lighting fixes
  • Made side doors more defendable with windows
  • Added dosh collectibles around the map
  • Removed some window entries to make the hotel more defendable
  • edited pathing
  • Rooftop and outside buildings have been edited

I check now and then your map to see the evolution, i must say it look freaking awesome, i haven't played it since a while but good job dude :)

V10 is out and will be the final beta build until final and the build that is going to be entered for the GB contest. If however one of you find bugs and or things that I can fix before midnight tonight PLEASE let me know about it :)

The gameplay is set and from here on so only visual and polish will be applied to the level.

Changes in V10:

  • Red alarm lights activate when lights around them are destroyed
  • Fixed some meshes not showing up
  • More detailed planks on the windows

The Map tanks to 1 FPS and crashes for everyone on my server when running this on the beta preview version (could be a problem with nvidia flex)

I have never tested it with the Beta and am unable to at this point. Still in the process of moving.

Does this still happen?

Yea same thing is happening in the regular version of the game now with the update, map is unplayable with Nvidia Flex enabled

Which doesn't make since really :/ maybe its because I have a lot of blood splatter around the map.

Map isn't fixed, the flex fluids don't use spatter maps like normal blood does, it is a physical object in the map and they seem to go right through the carpet which causes the bug, maybe theyre getting trapped inbetween the carpet & the floor im not sure

Ok so it is only the fluids then, and the crash only happens around the carpet or when you kill stuff around other areas on the map?

The frame rate tanks for everyone with Flex, no matter where we try and holdout.

Even the people without Flex have lower frames in the last ~5 versions, when compared to the fps we used to have in early versions.

One map developer that was playing on my server said it might be because you probably used Static Meshes for everything. If that makes sense. Apparently it is a bad idea.

All tripwire maps are made with only static meshes, it is modular level design.

Everything was fine for the map up until the update. Something in that update did something and I have no clue as to why that is. I can assure it is not because of static meshes lol

These issues all occur online withing servers, solo play seems to be unaffected from what I have heard.

I will try my best to fix it, but unfortunatley if I can't not much can be done. At this point I need insight from Tripwire :/

Its a bummer too, because I have zero ideas on how to fix it without having a group of testers.

So I will just state this. All future builds will be released to try and rectify this issue. If you download and host and or play it solo PLEASE post how it plays here so 4 months of work on this map does not go down the drain.

Yea i was wrong because of how hard it is to test on all the surfaces when the game crashes after only one try, it seems to be affected by alot more than just the carpet, but the carpet 100% of the time will cause the lag i know that for sure

It has something to do with the map and not with the materials or meshes after I was doing some testing. I even went so far as to remove the outside lights and replace all the materials and meshes lol

I am eliminating other variables currently and trying to figure out whats causing this. If I am unable to do that I will be remaking the map in scratch in a blank template.

This process is going to take a few weeks to complete but people seem to enjoy the map and I would like for the community to be able to play it.

Good news everyone! I started moving everything over to a blank template and got it working today! Give me a week and I should have everything converted and running!
