Ok well i managed to get map onto both of my servers which are identical,but on my passworded server ,every time i loaded it i got bugsplat,so i have removed from the server.

Changes
  • Destructible Walls have been added
  • Added props and lighting changes to rooms
  • Added more player spawns and changed the location of the spawns
  • Edited roof layout a little so players can't stand on top of the Door exit so easily
  • Fixed some exploits in the alleyway and in one of the hotel rooms.
  • Edited lighting and removed sparks from destructible lights
  • Added a roof jump option if the players want to go for it

I have not noticed any major problems with V7, expect the same problem I noticed before.

Above the "We Are Evolution We Are Horizine" light up tower/stand thing, in the hotel room, the ammo crate still cannot be grabbed without jumping onto the table.

Which room is it in and if its the table with the chairs around it and not the counter with the fridge by it then that's fine :p

Great job on V7! Destructible walls are awesome. New lighting is neat.

I like the roof now. And I like the ability to jump down the roof. There are still no fire stairs though. Any plans on adding it?

Unfortunately I wan't able to do any additional testings due to those effin teleporting zeds :mad: I know that it's not your fault. I haven't played KF2 for 3 weeks. Just launched the game to test your map. But teleporting zeds made me sick and I just rage-quit the game. If Tripwire won't do anything about it in the next update, then I won't play it even despite all the new content.

I am debating on putting in the stairs or not. If anything I will put it in as a test and I agree with the teleporting and wish it would just get removed from the game entirely.

I just found a bunch of issues with pathing that I missed and fixed so a quick fix is going to be coming here shortly and the customization points to fix the spawn issue.

V7-1 Quick Fix for this update is out. sorry for those that have already put the update in your rotation!

The update is on Gamebana as usual

  • Joined my Abyss map with this one, lighting needs some work with the cave part. Can't seem to get the dominant light to not shine on the zeds.
  • Edited spawns and pathing.
  • Made it easier to jump on the cars

v8 crashes on my windows server as well with a file not found error so I had to remove it. Maybe it's trying to load something that was not in the kfm?

Just use v7 for now then. I will be removing the cave because I don't like how it affects the core gameplay of the map.

The update with improved pathing will be put up soon.

What will be coming in the next update(and probably the last before becoming final):

Side Note: If you turn of realtime reflection performance is increased tenfold for this map right now. I don't know why this is and will be looking into it.

  • Combined Meshes for improved lighting and performance
  • Ambient Sounds have been added to the map
  • Lighting channels adjusted for better lighting
  • More detail with meshes and materials, Mesh changes and etc....
  • Added collectible to shoot at
  • Edited the side doors to be more Defendable, you can now shoot through a window looking at the door while inside
  • raised the "Skybridge above the hotel"

^^ That is whats coming for sure, the following below is what might be added

  • A special event when getting all collectibles
  • destructible planks/wood barriers
  • Red Alarm lights when all the lights get shot out in the hotel
  • Attempting to edit the "defendable windows" with my own custom combined mesh for the door.


The map is coming to an end gameplay wise. Only aesthetic changes will be applied from here on out.

I commend you for your work and the diligence you have shown working on this map. Really a great effort. I played this last night for the first time on Sheep's custom server. I have no idea which map version he has. I give it high positive marks overall. I just have one element of the map that I personally didn't really like and that was the lighting. From the halfway to the end the map was totally blacked-out except for a couple of burning cars. I would ask for a bit more ambient lighting even in the darkest parts of the map. My experience was on a big crowed server with lots of zeds.
