Good map. The previous suggestions / improvements you're making is pretty much what I had to suggest.

I'd also suggest adding some more props / tables to weave in and out of.

I haven't played the map itself but looking at the video all I can say is: it's looking great! I'm wondering where you got the wooden table/barrel meshes from. Are you using any custom meshes/materials?

There are a lot of open spaces though, might want to add some extra meshes or block some areas off.

Anyway, great work!

lol I um got creative with the meshes they have. All I did was put the corners they have for the bar together.

Everything being used is from there assets this far.

As for meshes so people can't dance around. I am looking into that.

Very nice so far but a couple of things.

-dropped items float in some places
-Zeds fall through the ground when killed in some places
-The big stairs inside are super glitchy dead stuff gets stuck on them, things disappear near the bottom walking up them.
-Its far too defensive imo, I wish stuff would spawn inside/upstairs

Aesthetically its very nice.

I am working on the stuff floating in the air. Trying some solutions. Same goes for that road thing. Same goes for stairs.

The maps goal is to be defensive so that is preference :rolleyes:

great map, best map released so far imo. i can see it being a classic for 20+ players.

aesthetically main thing atm i think is the dna lights hanging from the ceilings, they look very bad and out of place. if there isn't any alternative to use then i think it would even look better without them, just my opinion though.

gameplay wise - standing at the top of a staircase is very easy because none of the zeds flank. perhaps you could make a third way up to fix this, maybe a way up through one of the cafe/bar areas built by a pile of rubble and collapsed ceiling.

or maybe with one of the stairs you could widen it by having the floor above where the long corridor next to the stairs have collapsed down so stairs are widened with a rubble ramp too and that would remove the corridors being easy shooting gallery and instead when you went up the stiars you have to go through broken wall into a corner room.

the other stair you could have T-junction at top with 2 ways to go.

I wanted to give a horizion advertising feel for the map so that why I have the DN lights. I plan on trying to make them be just in one area once I find a good light replacement.

I am working on a way so they actually go up the other staircase. If I can get that to work it will be a two way front at all times. Otherwise if I can't I will probably be making a way for them to come up other than by stairs like you were suggesting. It most likely will be done through rubble connecting one of the other buildings but there are multiple ways this can be done.

I haven't seen any zeds ever go up the other stairs to flank, defensive or not. The top of stairs are essentially a choke point.

Ya it isn't working how I want/how it is supposed to. I am messing with the pathing now so that a stairway isn't a surefire win.

We will see how everyone plays on the 2nd version of the map here. Should have it up soon or in a couple of days.

To keep everyone updated. I am still changing the layout of the map and adding new spawns and adjusting the pathing.

I am trying to get them to spawn all around the map instead of just near players so they come from all fronts.

Alright! Update 2.00 is out and ready to download!!!

Just go to the first post on this page to go get it, please do not edit the name of the file and keep it as it is to differentiate the versions on servers.

I will try to get some new screens and a vid up tomorrow.

Updates:
  • Reduced outside space and edited layout.
  • changed barriers and blockades
  • Added and edited spawns
  • Added two way staircases and fixed the issue with zeds getting caught in the air and falling through
  • Made it so when up top Zed's will come from behind as well
  • Added two doorways to the hotel
  • Added and adjusted lights
  • Opened up rooms that were not accessible before
  • Added ammo/weapon spawns

One of the outside traders doesn't work not sure which side but its one of them

Make sure you download the most recent file again. All traders worked for me the last time I tested it. I will give it another look and let you know if I had the same issue.

Update: Just tested the file I have for download and all 3 traders work. So redownload it and everything should be ready to go!
