V5 has toned down indoor lighting, exploit fixes as well as some area balancing.

The indoor lighting has been changed to make it a bit more visually interesting and the outdoor area has been altered to make it a bit harder.

V3 includes a significant performance increase indoors, various bug fixes as well as minor aesthetic improvements.

Looks fun :)

More in the style of Defend Thy Self maps with the open areas. Looks nice. Properly lit.



The outdoor areas look really bland in comparison. I think you'd be better served using some of the mountain meshes from Volter-Mansion to surround and enclose your map.

Build some surrounding mountain ranges / hills and use some different tree meshes outside. Darken up the skybox. IF it was me I'd make it more night time outside and light it similar to volter mansion using the night skybox. Wouldn't need any rain just would help with the atmosphere outside. Players won't go out there if it doesn't look as nice as the indoor areas.

It looks like you are good with lighting so try lighting outdoor paths with lamp posts for softer lighting.

I guess the main thing I'm saying it needs work on are the outdoor walk way paths around the mansion and the general outdoor atmosphere.



You should use the "Draw Scale" on the meshes to resize them. All of your trees are similarly sized and it doesn't feel that dynamic.

V2 is now up with the redone outdoors area.
Once I initially had placed the background trees, I noticed that the map file went over 100 MB, so I decreased the amount to make it a bit more compact. Hopefully it looks decent anyway.
Feedback is appreciated. I don't want it to look too ugly. :p

Every Chair in your map creates a blocking volume , and if u push the chair the blocking volume is still on his place and block even without the chair

Thanks. That is a known issue. It only occurs on servers though, not offline, which is why I don't fully understand the issue.

Everyone I played with noticed the inside was glitchy and laggy but the outside was smooth. We played the entire game outside after round 2 because inside was just too laggy and glitchy to play.

Thanks for the feedback! I believe the bad performance is a result of shoddy lighting. Hopefully I'll be able to sort it out, because obviously low fps is what makes something unplayable.

Played the new one today and didn't notice any issues inside on the newest one. I'll have to play again to make sure.

This map has been in my map rotation for a long time now and people really like it! I think that the inside should be made a little more viable to hold out in because people almost always end up holding outside because of how open it is and how easy it is to run around zeds instead of being cornered staying inside the house. On top of that, most of the spawns seem to be inside so the zeds just slowly meander out the door only to be mowed down far away from the players. It's a shame because the interior is so well crafted and all.

Have you considered making the lights green and the inside darker with cobwebs and all that? Just a funny idea I got from the Haunted Mansion theme park attraction. :D

Thanks for the feedback! I honestly haven't been doing much with the SDK for quite a while now, but I would love to improve the map.
My idea to make the outside less OP is to pretty much just cut it off and make it a very small area.
For whatever reason I just figured it would be pretty cool to have an outdoors area.
Also, the creepyfying with green lighting and such is a great idea. I might just get to work on it.
I think the reason why I've been a bit demotivated is because the game currently is in such an early 'early access' state, so none of my friends currently wants to play it.
