i know not many people really actually check out the manual, but can you guys update it so that it includes the DEMO perk? i'd imagine it's possible to update this file since i've noticed what appears to be updates to other sections of the manual.....sure it's kind of a smal detail but for new players that might check out the manual, it should be up to date.

edit: alot of stuff could be updated regarding the perks

I noticed that the file was updated on 10/28/2009, but nothing new seems to be added to it. none of the new content like the demo perk, the weapons, maps or other features were added to the appropriate sections, but i did notice that damien laurent's name was added to the level designers list in the credits section. this seems to be a bit odd.....

I would wonder if its possible to have this manual in a less obscure place, I mean I didn't even know about it until I saw this thread and went looking for it.

And yes it does badly need updating ;)

For those of you who don't know C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\killingfloor\Help

Could be put in the settings maybe. Tried to match people from the names on the manual and accounts on this forum :)

yeah it's really buried in those files isn't it, at least i also never knew it existed until somebody directed me to it to point some interesting information out to me. actually after i found it, i looked in RO's files and also found a manual there too that in 4 years of playing the game, i had no clue it was there.

it would be really nice to include this manual within the actual game itself so that people could find it easier. like have an option within the menu to select the manual to read through it without having to leave the game. imagine if people actually learned the basics of the game before jumping right in and start raging scrakes and fleshies?

of course this manual, whether ingame or external, should stay up to date. like i'm still finding it very odd to see that the file was modified during an update in late november, yet i saw nothing new at all except an addition to the credited level designers.

Sure an update of the manual would be nice but there is something more important in my opinion.

It would be nice if the roost & kf manuals could be available when right clicking the game in the library

Like when you right click on ArmA2 you see this:

Because even if there is a manual most people currently probably don't know where to find it.

ah, that's a good idea too. yeah, even though it's not the most important thing in the world, would still be nice if TW got bored one day (highly doubt that ;)) and was like hey, let's update the game manual :D

Since the grindhouse content maps now come with the game as official maps, they had to include him, otherwise thats dumb. It wud be gud if he was taken in officially by TWI tho.

i presume Yoann Guilloud's name would have to eventually be added then as well since he did co-authoer Icebreaker right?

oh jester interesting idea, i thought of that as well, but wouldn't it be wierd since he's already got a pretty decent gig atm: http://fr.linkedin.com/pub/damien-laurent/a/792/84b

While the idea of manuals is brought up, what about the manual in the retail version? I bought it and do you guys know how long it is? It's not even a booklet, it's just a single page, back and front. Making that a little longer would be nice since there are people such as myself that enjoy reading instruction manuals

Let me guess... control key list and steam redemption code? :)

Yep, pretty much. They could've included a small list of team strategies or something as well. Also, the box isn't made of hard plastic. If you take away paper covering from it, you see like this recycle symbol... I forget exactly what. I haven't looked at the box in a while

yeah that's the direction retail boxed versions of games have been going over the last decade it seems. i guess it does save on packaging and of course, like this thread suggests, it'd be impossible to update a physical written manual if the game received an update. that's why most games will put it in digital format, so from the business standpoint i can see where the game developers are coming from. for some people it was just nice to have a physical copy come with the box, especially if it was really well done. actually come to think of it, the last full manual i remember getting was the one that came with the RO collectors edition and boy did it have some cool things in it :)......of course it's all in the game files stored on your computer anyway lol

edit: and for the other sorta related material expressed in this topic, that's exactly why i don't bother anymore messing with mapping and leave it to the pros ;)
